Erin wasn’t settling down she had a hold of Kelly’s hand with one hand and Hank with the other and she clenched both of their hands hard but was getting more worked up at Kelly right now for blaming himself. “Kelly Severide. Don’t you dare blame yourself for this and then tell me it’s okay. It’s not okay for you to go blaming yourself for this mess.” She wasn’t calming down it was getting hard to breathe as she started coughing. “You think it’s easy for me to sit here and watch you blame yourself” she stated after taking a few breathes. The feisty side of her wanting to yell at him and give him every reason in the book as to why he needed to stop this right this minute. Though she didn’t have the strength, so she was firing off what would come out. She let her partner interrupt the conversation. “I wish I could say that much. The investigation is just underway, but we are going after this guy with everything. If he so much as killed a fish we will get him on murder charges.”“I hate fish” Erin mumbled. Her partner just shook his head. “Dolphin lover and fish hater. I’m making you a poster child for saving the ocean” he teased. The partner continued, “like I said OFI and PD need all the help we can get. We can temporarily state you into the PD here for this investigation. I’m sure Knoxville wouldn’t have any issues working with Tierney. They have worked with them in the past.”Erin wanted this to all just go away. She put her forehead on the top of Hank’s hand. She was mad at Kelly for blaming himself but she didn’t want to let either one of them out of her sight. Her monitors settled down as she tried to take a few breaths. Though she was far from out of the woods. “No, of course not. If you want we can arrange to set you up temporarily here? We have PD set up outside. No one is getting to Erin. I can assure you of that. She’s officially in protective custody, until this arsonist is caught. We take someone attacking one of our own very seriously sergeant.”Tag: Lt. Kelly Severide, Sgt. Kelly nodded as Sergeant Voight stated that he had been the one to save Erin while the department helped, stating that he trusted him but not the others. "Okay," he said softly. So Hank wasn't pissed at him. Good. He had honestly figured that he would be. He then turned to Erin as she berated him for blaming himself for what had happened and then reassuring her everything was okay, saying that it wasn't okay for him to blame himself, asking him if he thought it was easy for her to watch him do so. "Babe...if I hadn't gone to OFI you wouldn't be heading into the hospital in a damn ambulance," he reminded her.
After this, he turned to Erin's partner as Hank started talking to him, saying that he wished that they had been meeting under better circumstances, going on to say that they had come up with a profile on the arsonist which had revealed that whoever it was, was a repeat offender. They've done this more than once, he thought to himself. And Erin had been caught in the crossfire. Damn, how come he hadn't been paying better attention to her? He should've known that someone would try something.
His reverie was broken as he heard Hank saying that he'd give the department a hand to help them find the guy and that he wasn't going to leave Erin alone, listening a bit as they talked, Erin's partner offering to get Hank stated into the local P.D. to find the guy who had burned the house down. "When I find this guy..." he muttered, his voice trailing off. No. He couldn't go off half-cocked. He knew this. It wouldn't do Erin any good and she needed him close by, but still, it didn't mean that he didn't wish that they were in Chicago and he could drag this guy out to the docks or the silos. The guy had attacked a cop and deserved much worse in his opinion, but hey, who listened to him?
When Hank said it wasn't his fault and that it could've been any of them who had captured the attention of a crazy person, he nodded even as the other officer agreed, saying they'd take all the help that they could get and that they took an attack on one of their officers seriously. Hank was right about that, it could've happened to any one of them, but the fact of the matter was that it had happened to him. Someone had done this as a message to him. And he wanted them. He wanted them bad.

Hank was listening to Erin tell Kelly not to blame himself, he knew if it had been him then he would be blaming himself but it didnt do any good. Any one of them could have attracted the wrong kind of attention and now the job was the fix it and Hank had a good idea of how he wanted to fix it rather than leaving it to a police department he didnt know or trust right now. “How many other people would have been in hospital or worse if you didnt go to OFI?” Hank asked looking at Kelly, how many more fires would have been set because of this guy. Sometimes even if it hurt people took a hit for the greater good and sure would he have rather it wasnt Erin, yes in a heart beat but then how many other people needed to get hurt? When Erin’s partner spoke about getting the guy on the murder of a fish, Hank had one better there wouldnt be a trial because those things could go all kinds of wrong. He was sure even Tierney had a place where he could put someone so they would never be found. “Yeah put me on this case, it doesn’t matter if they like it or not. My daughter, I’m working this case.” He stated knowing he wasnt about to give her partner any other option for that. Hank heard her monitors settle down as he felt her forehead on his hand. He leaned down to her as he kissed her head for a moment. “Severide as a cop don’t you dare finish that statement.” Hank said looking at Kelly for a moment, he wasnt against the idea in fact Hank was all for strangling the bad guy for what he had done to Erin but it didnt solve anything and the last thing he wanted was for Kelly to be up on murder charges. Hank he knew how that went and he had been down that road before but Severide, if anything happened to him Hank needed to make sure that Kelly was there for Erin. Someone he trusted that he knew would look after her no matter what was going on. “Setting up here sounds like a good plan to me and I wouldnt have it any other way. PD is family and Erin is family before the police department so no one gets to her at all. Protective custody just got a lot more protective.” Hank stated as he motioned between himself and Kelly. Hank also took out the gun he had holstered on his belt under his jacket. “Just in case I should declare I’m carrying too so I can guarantee that no one will hurt Erin or Kelly at all.” Hank didnt mention the gun on his ankle given that if he had to do something a little ‘illegal’ then at least it gave him an advance rather than show and tell for all the hardware he had. This wasnt Chicago but it was family and there wasnt a place on earth he wouldnt go for that. Tag: Det. Erin Voight , Lt. Kelly Severide

Kevin nodded at Hank when he said to put him on the case, "Of course Sir, welcome aboard and whether or not they like it I'd be honored to work with you, Er has told me so much about you. Because, we will find this guy and he will pay." So yeah, maybe he was a bit protective of his partner. It wasn't that he didn't think she could handle herself because she had proven time after time that she was more than capable of taking care of not only herself but him as well.
Hearing Kelly start what could be a very dangerous statement Kevin shot him a look, "I swear I'm hallucinating because I know I didn't just hear that even start to come out of your mouth, Erin needs you and you won't be any good to her in jail." Kevin got it, and even if Severide had finished what he was going to say Kevin would have denied hearing it until the day he died. As far as he was concerned if something were to accidently happen to this guy when they caught him he wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but he didn't want Kelly locked up for something he didn't do.
As Hank agreed to being set up in the hospital Kevin smiled. "I'll head back to the precinct and bring you both back a copy of everything we have on this guy, maybe some fresh eyes will catch something the rest of us haven't." When Hank took out his weapon to declare the fact that he was armed Kevin chuckled, "I wouldn't expect any less, but with that being said... until I get all your info to the boss and get the official stamp of approval on this, I'm going to pretend I didn't see that. What I don't know won't hurt anyone and if the need should arise feel free to do whatever is needed to protect your daughter and my partner, I'll have your back."

"Babe...if I hadn't gone to OFI you wouldn't be heading into the hospital in a damn ambulance.” She wanted to scream and yell at him but she wasn’t really strong enough yet for that. It didn’t stop her from giving him a look that could peel wallpaper with ease. Doing his job wasn’t what got her into trouble, how did she tell him she’d been after this same arsonist? She closed her eyes. “I’ve been poking my nose into this case a lot longer than you turning it into OFI. So don’t sit here and tell me this is your doing.” She was too tired to argue and she needed to calm down. The only person keeping her remotely calm right now was her dad. "When I find this guy..." Oh Kelly she closed her eyes as she heard the others cut in and her dad trying to reassure her that she was safe. “Severide as a cop don’t you dare finish that statement.” "I swear I'm hallucinating because I know I didn't just hear that even start to come out of your mouth, Erin needs you and you won't be any good to her in jail." Kevin had a point and maybe if she couldn’t talk sense into Kelly maybe her partner could. Erin leaned back against the rail. The pain on her arms from the burns. She rasped for breath just a little but was okay on the oxygen. What could she say at this point. Erin’s eyes went to the three men in the room, all of whom she trusted with her life. “I want him.” She meant the guy who did this. She really wanted him dead; but revenge murder wasn’t the way to do this right. Though she wasn’t sure she was going to be able to stop her dad if he found this guy. “Detective Galloway, he asked me for help on this case. I told him I would look into it.” Then Kelly had gone to OFI and then Erin was having retaliation strikes against it. “This isn’t the first time this guy has done this. It sure as hell better be the last” Erin rasped towards the three men. Tag: Lt. Kelly Severide, Sgt. Hank Voight,@kevin

Kelly's eyes flickered as Erin told him that she had been looking into the case long before he had gone to OFI and not to tell her it was his fault. "Okay," he said quietly. Yeah, she was irritated. Not that he could blame her. She was in the hospital and she hated hospitals. "Just hate seeing you like this," he admitted. Feel so helpless. There's no way to make things better or easier for her, he thought to himself. Hated that he couldn't do anything. He needed to do something.
He then fell silent as Hank told him not to finish the sentence he had been saying as Kevin said that he had to be hearing things, telling him that Erin needed him and wouldn't be any good to her if he was in prison. "Sorry, Hank," he murmured. Yeah, he knew that Hank was most likely feeling the same way he was, but above all, he was a cop first and would have no qualms about throwing his ass in jail or prison if he did something stupid. So yeah, he wouldn't do a damn thing, no matter how much he wanted to. And he really wanted to go after this guy. They had hurt Erin. In his book, that was unacceptable. But he wouldn't go off like that. Not with Hank here. He had too much respect for him.
When Erin started speaking again, he turned to her as she explained that she had been asked to assist on the case by a Detective Galloway, and that even though it wasn't the first time a place had been torched and someone had been taken to the hospital, it had better be the last, he nodded. "And it will be," he promised, going to take her hand. He wasn't sure if she'd allow it, but hopefully she wouldn't be pissed enough about his statement to turn away from him.

At least Erin’s partner was on the same page he was, Erin was his daughter and his world. No one got to mess with that and in Chicago he would have raised the city to its knees for her, Tierney was no different to that. “Thank you, it’s an honour to work with you too.” Hank said not entirely sure what Erin had said about him but then it must have been good given the guy was honoured to work with him. Maybe she had left out the many skeletons in his closet he had amassed over the years. Hank nodded to Atwater, “I doubt that you’ve missed anything but a few more sets of eyes could always help.” Hank wasnt about to tell the guy that there had been something missed, sure he could be a bear with a sore head at times but then in the spirit of getting along he needed to at least make sure he was playing fair. With that Hank shook his head toward Kelly, “Don’t apologise for it, I agree with you I just can’t hear it.” He stated sure that if he had then depending on Atwater he might have to take a more serious look at things even thought he knew it would be ridiculous. Looking back to Atwater as he spoke about getting the sign off things Hank just shrugged and smirked slightly. “You do that but my daughter and Kelly arent going to stay here without protection. Don’t you worry about doing whatever is needed, I’m not sure what Erin’s told you but whatever it takes is all I do.” He stated knowing that he would do anything for family and Erin and Kelly were just that whether they liked it or not. Still probably admitting it was a bit of a step but then the cop said he didnt see it so who was he to argue with that at all? When Erin spoke Hank just stayed silent, Erin wanted this guy but Hank wanted him more for what he had done. He could almost make that guarantee to her though he stayed quiet simply nodded with what Kelly had said about things. He knew it was bad enough Kelly saying what he had done Hank didnt need to add to that when he had every intention of making the guy disappear for what he had done. Tag: @kevin, Lt. Erin closed her eyes and then reopened them. She was tired, she was in the hospital and although she wanted to go home she knew that was out of the question for a few days. She sighed as she closed her eyes once more. She had Kelly's hand on one side and Hank's on the other when she finally drifted off. The medication she was on had kicked in. Though she was off of the breathing help, she was still on oxygen. The pain meds were likely the only reason she could sleep. Erin vaguely heard the men conversing but took it as nothing more than the familiar voices she was used to hearing. Those voices meant she was safe, she could sleep without a worry to watch her back. Her breathes rose and fell with the sounds of the room suggesting she was relaxed. Recovering under the watchful eye of the three was the best place to do so. Exit Det. Erin VoightTag: Lt.
