He smiled as she said she said she wanted to join the best as she had and now she was here "Well and how does it feel now you are part of the best?" he asked imagining she was proud of it like any other marine, he didn't think he had ever met a marine not proud of it. "And I'm sure your family is proud of you" he said pretty sure she wasn't doubting it.
He couldn't help but chuckle a bit as she spoke about her friends, one probably wouldn't have to be in for a long time before most of the people they knew would start marrying, not quite something he could imagine himself doing anytime soon. "My plans?" he spoke with a considering tone as he thought for a moment "I don't know I got into Recon which was my big plan" He seemed to look thoughtful again "I'm not planning to marry or have kids for now that's for sure" he said speaking with an amused tone "Do what's required of me I think that's about it, I'm not quite sure actually" he leant back, it felt kinda weird not having any particular plan "Well I heard they had a nice movie theatre in town so plan on going there" he said knowing it didn't count as a plan but was the best he could do.

She saw him smile as she spoke about joining the best, "I guess it feels pretty good, couldn't imagine doing anything else. Plus I managed to prove a few people wrong in the process, so there's that too." She smiled as she thought about her family, "Yeah my Daddy is thrilled and beyond proud, so that probably means more than anything."
Emilee must have caught him off guard when she asked him about his plans for the future because he had to think about it awful hard. She smiled, "Well then you must have worked really hard to reach your goal so quickly, time to think about what's next." She laughed when he went on to point out that he wasn't planning on getting married or having kids anytime soon, "Good to know, it hasn't even crossed my mind either but it's all some of my friends are talking about. Doing what's required is always a good thing."
When Lucien started talking about the movie theatre and that he had plans to go there, Emilee was a tad confused. She was quiet for a few minutes as she tried to decide whether or not she had just been asked to the movies so she just nodded. "Yeah, I heard someone mention something about the theatre too but I hadn't really thought about going alone." She studied him in silence for a bit before deciding to be brave and go for it, she smiled, "But if that's your way of asking me to the movies... the answer is yes."

Lucien smiled politely as she told her dad had been thrilled, he would be surprised if he hadn't been, even if all families now a days didn't always agree. When she spoke about him having reached his goals quickly he let out a light shrug, he had been amongst the younger yes but he felt there were a lot of people that had went to recon pretty quickly, he didn't feel special, but he was proud, even if he hadn't been deployed yet. He nodded understandingly as it sounded like she had the same idea about marriage and children, he had friends like her that talked a lot about it, but he personally felt like he was too young.
He noticed she seemed to be thinking after his idea about the theatre but he hadn't thought much about it so it came as a surprise as she said yes to going, he wasn't quite sure if he had asked her to join him but thinking back at his sentence he could see why. Even though a bit awkwardly he offered a warm smile "Of course" he said before continuing "I don't know of anything interesting movies showing but we can find that out when we both have time?" he offered. After a small moments consideration he continued "I guess the appropriate step now would be to exchange numbers?" he spoke a bit hesitantly as he felt surprisingly awkward and he wasn't quite sure why.

Emilee noticed Lucien's reaction when she had agreed to join him at the movies and shook her head chastising herself, great Emilee that was so not what he was going for and now he doesn't know how to tell you that. She smiled back at him and blushed as she apologized, "I'm sorry, I think I probably took that all kinds of wrong and just invited myself to the movies... so please don't feel pressured to actually go through with it."
She continued smiling at him, at least he was being sweet about the whole ordeal. When he asked to exchange numbers she was shocked, but handed him her phone so he could type his number in. "Sure, and if you were serious about actually going to the movies sometime... I'm off this weekend, but if not... like I said don't feel pressured to... just because I made a fool out of myself." She tried to laugh it off, but she was hoping that they could be friends. It was nice to actually have someone here to talk to that was in a similar situation to hers. Her friends back home were great, but they just had no concept of what she had been through or went through on a daily basis.
Pulling a hair bow from her wrist she pulled her hair up and stood, "So I was thinking about going for that walk now..." She hesitated momentarily to see if he was going to make any move to come with her, "Did you want to come with me, or.." Gosh why was this so hard? She'd never been particularly good at talking to guys, but this had to be a new record level of awkwardness. She looked at him briefly before quickly looking away and mumbling, "I think I'd really like it..." she took a deep breath and turned back towards him, now was the time to be brave and just say what she meant... things couldn't get any more awkward than they already were. "What I meant to say is, I'd like it if you would join me."

There was something about her awkwardness he liked, not that he was much better himself. he didn't know her that well yet but he was sure it was going to get better. Lucien couldn't help but smile at her as she blushed although feeling a bit awkward he looked at his hands.
As she handed him her phone he started to type in his number while listening and while doing so he couldn't help but to smile warmly at the situation although it felt rather awkward, more than he had for awhile. He handed her back her phone and thought for a moment thinking about what to say which felt a bit hard. "You're doing fine" he said to her comment about making a fool of herself, it was rather awkward but he was sure they could be doing worse. "But uhm yeah this weekend works fine for me" he spoke with a polite voice "it is more fun to do with someone else" he offered an awkward smile as he rubbed his hands nervously.
He looked at her when she stood back up and nodded slowly as she said she wanted to go for the walk, he wasn't sure why he had made her so awkward but he found it cute, not that he was going to tell her. He wondered what she was up to as she seemed to look away for a bit. As she looked back at him and spoke again he offered a friendly nod and a small "Uhm S.. sure" he stuttered before he cleared his throat" "I mean sure" he moved away from his seat and stood up "Lead the way" he said as he straightened his jacket.
After a moments where he had tried to think of something to say he just went from somewhere "So what kind of movies do you like?" he asked curiously if for nothing it would help figure out what to look for in the movies.

Emilee smiled, at least she wasn’t the only one being Awkward. When she saw him smile at her when she blushed and then look at his hands, she couldn’t help but wonder if speaking to guys would always be this difficult for her.
She watched as he entered his number into her phone and laughed when he assured her that she was doing fine, “Doesn’t really feel like it, but if you say so… I believe you.” Smiling with his confirmation for the weekend she shoved her phone into her pocket, “Great… I’m excited.” She said watching him rub his hands nervously. “If it makes you feel any better… I think you’re doing just fine too, and the movies are definitely much more fun to do with someone else.” She blushed again and looked at her own hands for a bit.
Maybe if Emilee didn’t think he was so cute she wouldn’t be so awkward, but there was nothing she could do about that and she wasn’t very likely to tell him that bit of information anytime soon. Trying to focus on the conversation she smiled when he stuttered his response, she laughed when he told her to lead the way. “Probably not the wisest decision you’ve ever made… following me could get us both lost. But hey… the place isn’t that big, shouldn’t be that hard to navigate. Though surely I’d hate for two Marines to get lost on base, we’d never hear the end of it.”
She noticed Lucien was quiet as they started walking and was racking her brain for something to say when he saved her asking what type of movie she liked, “Oh… for the most part, I like them all. Not a huge fan of horror films but seeing as it’s nowhere near Halloween I should be pretty safe from that option. I’d hate for you to see me scared considering I’m supposed to be brave and all. How about you? What kind is your favorite?”

He offered a smile at her encouragements that he was doing fine, he was sure he could be doing a lot worse but then again people had never been his strong point especially not when it came to girls, but for now it felt like he should just keep it up and be polite as it seemed to be going alright.
Lucien chuckled at the idea of the two of them getting lost on base, that sure would be quite the sight, and lead to countless jokes, and as fun as it sounded it probably would be a bit too awkward. But he was sure it wasn't that difficult to navigate. "I'm sure you'll do fine, in a worst case scenario see it as practice" he said jokingly being pretty sure she knew how to navigate around, or at least he had been.
Following along next to her he listened interested, so horror movies were her weakness, seemed a bit amusing for a nurse and marine disliking horror movies "Heh no worries I seen many people dislike horror movies, difference between being scared in the movies and how one acts on the battlefield.." he spoke in a sense of encouragement even if last time he had watched a horror movie it had been less about fright and more his squad mates booing at the screen causing a bother for the other guests. "As for my favourite, I think saying war movies is a bit cliché so probably mostly sci-fi.. But I enjoy most kind of movies" he knew that it wasn't much to go on for either of them but in a worst case scenario they'd find something to watch on the day.
"How about music then? Any specific music you listen too?" he asked curiously, finding it a bit odd he had no idea what to ask about but right now he felt any conversation was good conversation.

When Lucien mentioned that she could use navigating the base as practice Emilee laughed, "Relax... I'm pretty sure I can find my way back, if not I can always get you to ask for directions." As they walked and she talked about not liking horror movies she started to relax some, "Not that I'm a big scaredy cat or anything... because that's definitely not the case at all," Ok.. so maybe she was a bit of a chicken, but he didn't need to know that. "but when I'm watching a movie I want to relax or be entertained... not have stuff jumping out of closets making me scream."
She nodded when he spoke about war movies being cliché, "I enjoy a good war movie occasionally if it's well done... and sci-fi is ok as long as it's not the kind where the aliens jump out and scare you... I'm pretty easy to get along with when it comes to movies though, I like most of them as long as there's some kind of plot. I'm sure we'll be able to agree on something to watch." She smiled.
When he asked about music she turned towards him a bit, "I can listen to any kind of music and I have some favorites out of almost any genre, but I grew up listening to country music... classic country music. While it's not my favorite I still listen to it sometimes it reminds me of home, and I know almost all the words so it gives me something to sing along with. How about you? What kind of music do you listen to?"
