If it hadn’t have been for Vanessa it might have ended different, a war of words turned physical but he wasnt about to do that when Vanessa was in the way. He knew it was bad enough that he was yelling but really, the guy had hurt her. He had seen that with his own eyes. “You rubbed your arm, he hurt you.” Mark stated as he resisted her push back for a moment before he gave in to her. “Enough... okay.” He said as he glared at the agent before turning his attention to Vanessa.
None of this was fair, none of it. How could he be an agent with a shadow and do his job while letting someone walk all over his wife unchecked. This had happened before when Vanessa was his boss but not anymore. No NCIS had to learn there was a right and wrong way, this idiot agent was taking the wrong road. Mark took a few breaths when he felt Vanessa’s hand on his bicep happy that she was out of reach of the other agent.
Mark turned away deciding to talk the lead from his wife, better to walk away and still have a job rather than fight it out right there and likely get suspended. Mark still felt he was entirely correct but then Vanessa was family and no one got to annoy or harm his family. He caught up with Vanessa as he glanced at her phone. “Many calls to make?” He asked not sure where she would start with it as he knew he would call his boss. "Sorry I just... it's not fair on you any of this." Mark stated.
Once he had a more level head on him rather than rant down the phone as to how unfair the system was. “You sure he didnt hurt you?” Mark asked her as he glanced over her, “Are you hurt?” Mark knew it wasnt the greatest day and that his maybe going off on one hadn’t helped but he couldnt just stand and do nothing about it. Maybe hurling Russian insults and death threats was a little far but then he wasnt going to let that stand from NCIS. The entire reason he joined was because he needed to make a difference to what had happened last time.
