Kirkwood Residence Tierney, Tennessee Chimera Four This morning had to turn her hair on end. Things had been stressful after promotions had been lavished over the both of them. That wasn’t just the Navy pinning pretty awards all over their chests. They’d worked for it but today was supposed to be a day off. Victoria was fairly head strong and being told she had to do something usually went over like a lead balloon on her time off ship. Victoria grudgingly got off of bed and got dressed. Her mood went from wonderful to sour to FUBAR in about half a millisecond. “This had better be… or someone is going to meet my hormonal rage.” Victoria noted as she shoved a shoe on staring down at the ground. She heard Everett opening the door to see Aiden there. Victoria was soon joining the group though she was tired and groggy and still didn’t feel well. She looked as pale as she felt. Victoria saw a young girl with Aiden. He spoke about Aria all the time; but it wasn’t like they’d ever met. Victoria smiled at Aria a little bit. Call it motherly instinct; but she also knew this could be a scary time for the girl. Aiden was likely to be … difficult too. Though getting ready to be a mother herself, she couldn’t blame Aiden. Victoria used Everett for support. “The nearest shelter entrance is 4 miles from here. That building that looks abandoned, like it used to be an old bank. It runs under the base.” Yeah and everyone and their brother who knew about that entrance would be parking there, or trying to do so. She should have just taken her dad’s advice and moved to Charleston instead of this place. Then this wouldn’t even be a thing. Speaking of the devil, her phone was ringing from her back pocket. This wasn't how Everett envisioned spending his paid leave, but he wasn't about to take chances – not with Victoria and their unborn child at risk. With one or more missiles aimed at their little military town of Tierney, getting to the safety of the underground shelter had become their first priority. In spite of his promotion, Everett should have been captaining the Pedro del Valle – and he would be for at least a couple more weeks – instead finding himself caught up in the evacuation, unable to use the full might of his ship's defenses to intercept the incoming threat. As the commander of an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, Everett wasn't used to feeling vulnerable, though he felt it now. Everett wrapped his arm around Victoria, an innocuous gesture of support with undertones of affection. Everett was reasonably certain Aiden had already figured out what was happening behind closed doors, but still hadn't said anything to expose the relationship. Everyone else would hopefully be too busy carrying out their evacuation orders to recognize this was more than a CO taking care of a pregnant officer. The four evacuees here couldn't afford to waste more time, standing around and staring at each other awkwardly, even if Aiden's arrival had taken him by surprise. In no uncertain terms, traveling four miles now would take an eternity. "We need to get moving."Ushering Aiden and Aria out of the doorway, Everett was back to doing what he did best – just with less sailors under his command and less firepower at his disposal. No doubt everyone and their mother would be driving there, but on these back, residential roads, it would save them at least some time. Every extra second counted, as Everett made his final decision. "We take the car as far as we can. Hoof it from there, if we have to."SA Aria Campbell , Lt Cmd Aiden Campbell , Lt Cmd Victoria Kirkwood , Gy Sgt. Julien Foxwell , Sp. Agt Thomas Sullivan , Det. This really wasn't how he had wanted to start his morning, but it wasn't like there was anything he could do about it. Well, you know, except to stay calm and move out. We're on US soil, we're not supposed to be worrying about being bombed to hell, he thought. Okay, yes, he got grumpy when his sleep was interrupted. Sue him. But he would do his best to make sure everyone was okay. Okay, just get out of here and then things will be fine, he thought to himself. He just hoped that Jessica was okay. He hadn't heard from her since he had texted her. Maybe something had happened. No. He couldn't think like that. Nothing had happened. She was fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thomas wasn't really sure what more he could say to Erin, or what they could do to help. Other than the initial order, he hadn't really gotten any other instructions and he had to admit that he was going nuts. He didn't like waiting, he never had. No, he'd rather be out there lending a hand. But until he heard otherwise, he and Erin were stuck here. Okay, yeah, he was definitely not happy about this. But could he really be blamed? He felt like he was being told to stand down even though he hadn't been. He just needed something to do here and then everything would be fine.

Aiden put an arm behind Aria’s back and let the other two out of the house. Aiden knew full well what was going on as soon as he saw the two of them off duty together, but he sure as hell wasn’t going to say anything. Now was not the time to address his feelings on them breaking the rules. He gave Everett a look, one that showed he was right there if he was needed for anything. Aiden wasn’t about to challenge Everett. He saw Victoria give up her keys. He wanted something he could fight and this wasn’t something he could shoot at to make it go away. No, they needed something heavier for that and the Pedro was too far away from Tierney to do any of them any good, even if it wasn’t dry docked for the time being. He wanted to make some smart ass comment, but decided now was not the time to fire off comments at a pregnant Lieutenant Commander who might rip his head out of its place. Yeah,no. He followed the group out, but kept his eye on Aria. He knew she was almost an adult but he knew if it had been him, at that age, he would have felt like a scared kid. He could protect her from a lot of things; but this wasn’t something he could jump in front of. They would have to get to the underground bunker and hope for the best possible outcome. No, that wasn’t acceptable to him. Though deep down, he knew that Everett was right, they needed to get to the shelter as soon as possible. Tag; Det. Erin Voight, SA Aria Campbell, Sp. Aria leaned into Aiden's side a little when she felt his arm. She gave Victoria a small smile as she tried to fight back the panic. This wasn't what Aria wanted. No, she wanted to be home in bed or playing her guitar. Aria didn't want to have to be finding shelter because of a missile threat, but yet here she was. Aria didn't say anything as she followed the group, which was odd for the seventeen year old. Under most circumstances, the seventeen year old wasn't quiet. She was the kind of person who would normally speak up and say what she thought without hesitating. Now, all Aria could think about was the fact that her town was probably going to get blown up and there was nothing she could do except run. Which was funny, because Aria always had a problem with running. When things went south or became too much to handle, she would run. Now, it was almost being encouraged. "Why do bad things always happen?" Aria asked no one in particular. Couldn't there just be a time where everything was okay and they weren't in constant danger? Det. Erin Voight, Sp. NCIS Annex Chimera One Tierney, Tennessee “Hmmm, I think you could go this far given the right motivation.” Mark said with a grin but then this seemed a little too far even for Michael. Not that he didnt encourage or actively participate in pranks, this just seemed a little too much. “We’re going, just keep calm. Better to be steady and get there than rush and end up... on the worse side of things.” Mark said knowing that with Vanessa and the kids there, keeping calm had a whole new meaning for him right about now. Not just that his family was there but if this wasnt a joke then he was worried sick about them too. “Yeah there should be, probably stocked too for an emergency like this.” Mark said as he glanced at Vanessa, no he didnt want to leave her side at all right now. Mountains or not, sure he had a job but then he wanted his wife and kids to be alive too. Mark didnt wait to hear what Vanessa said as he glared at Michael. “No.” He stated though really turning down the help, it wasnt an option when he knew that Vanessa knew the place. He now hated that fact too. The submarine explosion was far easier to deal with, fishing Vanessa out of the water was a thing he had done. He could do that, stopping a missile. That wasnt something he was able to do, sure he could throw himself in front of it but then he knew it wouldnt do any good. “Fine she’s with us but Vanessa, the first sign there’s anything you find a tunnel or anything underground. It doesn’t matter where the rest of us are, you and the kids need to be safe.” Mark stated being deadly serious about that. Mark then glanced at Michael, sure he was annoyed that the man had suggested Vanessa come along too but they had orders and at least this way he could worry about her and still be with her. Worrying about her and not being able to see her, no that was worse. “You just standing there Michael or are we moving?” Mark asked smirking at the man slightly, “Bosses orders and all... but just so I’m clear did you answer your cell phone this morning too because we all know how bad things go on when you do that.” Sure Mark was many things but in a crisis, sure he was happy and snarky, sarcastic and he told jokes. How he still had a partner who knew and better yet how he had managed to get Vanessa to marry him. Yeah maybe she was temporarily insane for the better part of that day but then Mark would have wanted it any other way. Just maybe now without the impending doom of a missile strike. "So the boss add anything else other than Knoxville?" Mark asked. "And do we pick up on the way?" He added not sure if they were about to be banging on doors to get everyone to the tunnels or what, he was still trying not to freak out over a missile strike. Tag: Pvt. DunCroft Residence Chimera Three.“Lara, what’s going on?” “Where do we need to at five thirty in the morning?” “Do I need to change? How long are we gonna be gone?”It was easy to see the teen was confused about what was happening, understandable seeing as he had just been woken up at an unreasonable hour without an immediate explanation. "Yes you need to get dressed, hurry up." She replied calmly but seriously. "We need to evacuate, the towns been put on alert." She said letting him know what was going on. She could give him the finer details in the car. She grabbed the nearest set of clothes and tossed them on the edge of the bed, " Put on some clothes, grab your stuff and meet me downstairs in two minutes." She said then headed out of his room so he could change. Again she was speaking calmly but seriously. Mitchell Rogers . ********************************************* Knight Residence Chimera TwoJess didn't her her phone buzz with Jay's text as she slept on her side, her good ear on the pillow and her back to the phone. She didn't hear the buzz from her dad's texts either and they too received no replies from her. That was the thing, not everyone understood or remembered that she didn't always hear everything because of her bad ear. But thankfully her dad did and he had the sense to call her house phone. Jess stirred and woke up at the ringing, sitting up her blurry eyes squinted at the clock, who was calling at this hour and why? She answered the phone and put it to her good ear, "Hello?" She said sleepily. Her eye widened as she heard her dad's voice filling her in and telling her to get her butt moving as fast as he could possibly speak.Jess fell out of the bed and scrambled to throw on some clothed and get a bag. She saw all of the texts on her cell phone as she headed out of her bedroom and her hand started trembling. The alert was real. She was in danger, all her loved ones was in danger. What if her parents didn't get out on time? What if her friends didn't? What if she didn't? As she hurried out of the door and walked towards her car holding her bag over her shoulder she called Jay on her cell phone, "Hello, Jay? Where are you? I didn't hear my cell phone. I'm really scared." She was near to tears as she spoke and run-walked towards her car and unlocked the driver's door. Jess might have been in the army but she was a mechanic and bombs, bullets and missiles frightened her, and right now she was scared. This wasn't the battlefield, this was home so the threat of a missile in this environment wasn't something she had been mentally prepared for. Sgt. Jay Halstead .
