Her husband was the single most irritating person on the planet. "I can handle an upset stomach Eric. We don't even need to be here." Though she let him check her shoulder and she leaned on his. She was about to say something when the nurse made some comment. Jamie's blood boiled. How dare she accuse... there was a hot snort.

"Excuse me." The tones were dripping in sarcasm. Jamie was not being polite in the slightest. Jamie untangled herself from the cords and practically stumbled from the bed. "You jump to conclusions you know nothing about. Get your super in here." She stumbled backward and knocked into Eric. It didn't take much to ruffle Jamie's feathers and false accusations against her husband? Yeah, that would do the trick.

"Touch me with a needle and so help me I will have a lawsuit before you can finish shift." Jamie wrapped arms around Eric's neck and buried her head. The nurse left and Jamie looked at Eric like he was nuts. "Because. That." She narrowed eyes, "just take me home." The conversation with his brother, they were back to that again. Dammit.

"I didn't want to say anything.. there are too many what if's." Telling her husband this was a super high-risk pregnancy, get his hopes up to crush them. No, its why she hadn't said anything. David had said he was going to say something to Eric if she didn't and then something about it being someone else's kid. "Your brother accused me of sleeping around with so many choice words. I didn't want to tell you about the baby because it's a lot more than I can process right now. " Jamie sighed. "I don't want to get your hopes up." It would be hard enough for her to cope, but if he knew... and something happened she wasn't sure she would ever forgive herself.

"If it was as simple as an upset stomach Jamie I would agree with you, but you passed out on me. You can call me all kinds of names later, but I just want to make sure my wife is ok." He said before gently tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear and placing a kiss on her forehead. As mad as Eric was about the accusations that the nurse was throwing around he could tell that Jamie was furious.

Hearing her snort at the nurse and seeing her pull the cords off so that she could stand, he knew there was no need to try and stop her so he did the next best thing. He stood behind her keeping a hand on her good shoulder. "Darlin' come on lets get back in bed... please." He knew it would fall on deaf ears but he figured it was worth a try. He watched the nurse scurry out of the room and when Jamie fell back against him he wrapped his arms around her from behind and held her, he placed a kiss on her neck right below her ear before softly asking her, "Jamie, babe... please get back in the bed... Lets get you some IV fluids to make sure you're hydrated and then I will gladly take you home and tuck you into our bed. Please."

He wasn't any happier with the nurse than she was, but right now he was more concerned about his wife's health than some stupid nurse. "Look babe, I'd like nothing better than to take you home and hold you all night long but first I need to make sure that you are ok and the only way to be absolutely positive of that is to let them run their tests give you some fluid and then we can go home afterwards. Don't worry about anything except feeling better, I've already made phone calls and taken care of everything."

He took her hand when she started talking about what ifs and kissed the palm when she said that she didn't want to get his hopes up. "I'm not a total idiot Jamie, I know enough to know that there are tons of risks. I want to be here for you, but you have to let me. I'm not going anywhere no matter what, we're going to get through this together. As for my brother and his crazy accusations... you have to know that I would never believe that... ever. My promise from before still stands, I will not go looking for trouble with my brother."

Chloe observed the couple inside the room for a couple minutes before knocking on the door. She was definitely going to have to have a talk with her nurse, any person with eyes could see that this couple was deeply in love. As gentle as the husband had been and the way that he spoke to his wife... apparently the nurse had no clue.

“They have no decency and you expect me to just sit here while they make up excuses. I’m fine, Eric.” She was going to argue until the bitter end. Hell hath no fury like Jamie scorned when she was on a vengeance. Though there was little she could do in order to argue with her husband at this point.

When Eric tried to get her back in the bed she put her hand on her hip and glared at him. “No.” She demanded hotly. What part of going home and resting had he missed, it wasn’t like she hadn’t been through this before. Then he started going on about tests and she just rolled her eyes. “I’m not cooperating. Especially not after bimbo brain there who can’t. No.” She stared a death glare at Eric.

Jamie was not happy to have yet another nurse knocking on the door. Oh did it ever end? Jamie sighed and sat down on the edge of the bed but still refused to do more than sitting on the edge. Oh, Jamie had some razor sharp remarks and if she was rubbed the wrong way, there was no stopping her.

"While I do have to agree that you are much better now than you were when I called for the ambulance to bring you here, I just think it would be best to go ahead and get everything checked since we're already here." He looked at her silently pleading with his eyes, before smiling and joking lightly "Maybe if you'd been this feisty and argumentative with me instead of laying in my arms all limp and quiet while we were waiting for the ambulance I would have taken you home." He turned serious again, "You scared me darlin'... real bad, so please... for me... let them check you out."

When the nurse knocked and Jamie sat on the side of the bed Eric quickly moved to sit next to her, he wrapped his arm around her and kissed her on the temple and whispered, "Please. Jamie I love you so much, and if anything were to happen to you... I just don't know what I would do." Eric sighed and signaled to the nurse to come on into the room.

Chloe nodded when the man signaled for her to enter and as she entered she smiled at the couple. "My name is Lieutenant Chloe Nunn, and I'm in charge of this shift today.  Before I say anything else I personally would like to sincerely apologize for my nurse and her obvious mishandling of this situation.  I will be handling that situation myself once we get you taken care of.  It's no excuse, but she's a fairly new nurse and I'm certain that she had the best of intentions... misguided, but I can assure you that she did mean well."

Looking back and forth between the two sitting in front of her she couldn't help but think that her nurse must be both blind and deaf to have come to such a conclusion.  Smiling again she continued, "I read over your chart before I came in the room and got the basics, you were walking to lunch and passed out.  There's always more to the story than what the chart can tell me so why don't one of you tell me what happened in your own words?  Any medical history or conditions would also be helpful."  Turning to Jamie she asked, "Has anything like this ever happened to you before?"

Jamie rolled her eyes at her husband. He could be really annoying. Her arms crossed over each other and was not really in any mood to be at the hospital. Then Chloe started apologizing for the other nurse. “Save it Lieutenant.” The higher ranking officer didn’t want to deal with the whole nurse debacle. Jamie wasn’t about to forgive the former nurse anytime soon for her mishap. Jamison could hold a grudge.

When they had finally released her a few hours later Jamie was still irritated. When they got home, Jamie felt like going to bed and she was still irritated at Eric. Though she soon fell asleep, even if she had been protesting it all day.
