Onboard Transport Flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local TimeAlmost fresh out of the box, Gustav sat rather comfortably in his seat - his eyes wandering the cargo plane as the briefing began. He was dressed in his own set of camos; Norwegian woodlands, seeing as there had been little time to take a moment to visit the surplus store he had been told was around Tierney. His posture was upright, eyes focused on the colonel as he soaked in the mission briefing, he had not been around for the downed chopper but the fact that it was a hostage rescue mission had not made the focus any different. “Wilson, Voight, Atwater, and Jackson You will be with Lt Colonel Ruzek on the first entry point. Jackson, Sgt. Dovev, Bauer, Cole, and Markingham you are going to be with Vetelsen on the 2nd entry point. You are going to be the two extraction teams. Atwater and Voight and will run everyone through what we know about the compound.”Gus's eyes bounced between the names, trying to match faces with the people. It was a different pace, different setting. But, he had trained for this. Leadership had been drilled into him throughout his time in the FSK and at the Norwegian Military Academy. His next focus was of the intelligence that was being ready out to him, he unfolded his arms, leaning forward to make sure that everything was being heard correctly. He was new on the team and did not want to mess this up, there were nerves certainly - with his wife and child back home waiting on him to return safely. Something that he had tried to distance himself from at the starting call of this mission. “The only images you have are the ones in the personnel files of the three missing JTF. Lt. Chloe Nunn, Lance Corporal Lucien Vinigan and Petty Officer Noel Carver. We don’t have much intelligence on the compound. We have enough just to breach and get our own out of there."He nodded, having seen the pictures in the file and made sure he had committed them to memory. It was at this point, Gus performed another weapons check on his HK 416 rifle and G17 pistol. He had packed the essentials, traveling light but with the right amount of kit had been somewhat of a learned skill. Being a expert on explosive devices, he had brought a couple of his own in case things began hitting the fan, as well as a set of NVGs which he attached to his helmet prior to boarding. Gustav's eyes flicked up at the sudden raised voices; moreso than those speaking over the roar of the engines to see the Colonel throwing earbuds across the cabin. His brow raised in response, but nothing more. His hands wandered his carrier, making mental notes of where everything was positioned in case he needed to access a magazine in the heat of the situation before glancing over to Julien, who at this point was precariously managing two sniper rifles in either hand looking rather bemused at the entire situation. “As I was saying the drop point is 5 clicks from the compound. That’s as close as we can land. From there Sullivan will handle transportation.”Gustav nodded, looking over to Sullivan. “Sullivan if you can drop the snipers closer if you have time when we land do so. If not, I’m sure the three of us haven’t forgotten how to use our legs” "Aye, ma'am. I'm sure we can make something work." Sherman replied with a serious smile and a nod. Tag: ( Col. On board transport flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local time Mark sat and listened to Atwater and Voight, ex Navy and now a civilian it felt oddly familiar to be on that flight though usually it was to go and build something. A road, a bridge or tackle making something work ten times better with superglue and paper clips. Now an NCIS agent and he got to make trips for hostage rescue missions which was just as cool as engineering was though more or less far more dangerous than he had thought a JTF attachment would be. He could hear Vanessa in his head though it was probably safer all around not to voice what she might have said about it. ‘I’m just leaving for work’ and then a trip to another country and a ‘hey honey, I’m going to be a bit late for dinner’ yes he had done that made that call as he tried to concentrate on the task at hand and not how much he had to fight for that was at home. Concrete, dirt and camouflage he thought as he furrowed his brow for a moment. His head was working out wall thicknesses, what could and couldn’t work as he tried to concentrate. Mark saw the smirk Colonel Amberson gave him as he grinned back and saluted her in a slightly relaxed fashion. Sure he wasnt navy anymore but he knew rank and it was only polite despite his civi status. He knew when to be quiet and when to talk though usually it was a case of getting him to shut up or stop singing though maybe that was saved for the return trip. It wasnt long until someone had managed to find Amberson’s bad side, the headphones went flying and he dragged his feet in somewhat as he held onto his bag for a moment as he stared at the headphones for a second as he had an idea. “Listen, I might have a way to see through the concrete, depending on the thickness.” He said as he routed through his pack for a moment as he pulled out a tablet and what looked to be a low tech iron. “Place this on the wall and if it’s not too thick or shielded we’ll be able to get a basic picture of what’s on the other side of the wall. It’s not facial recognition but it could be useful?” He offered knowing he had packed a few gadgets along the way too just in case. It was a case of, yeah I got this new tech and figured I’d field test it and see what works. “Other idea, if we can find the concrete seams on the wall, a carefully placed charge would be enough to make a hole so that we could get in. Not quiet or subtle but possible.” He stated as he glanced toward the snipers in the group as he thought about the camera’s. “If you guys could manage it depending on your positions, the laser sights might blind the camera’s for a few seconds, again not subtle but might work?” Mark knew nothing he was suggesting gave them the element of surprise more than a few seconds but seconds were all that was needed at times as he sat back and waited to see if he had made any sense to anyone or even the people he was working with. On board transport flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local time Savannah might have normally stayed silent at the question posed by Halstead though she couldnt help but let out a chuckle as Sullivan replied. Rescue would be the better course of action but then again ‘don’t get killed’ sounded pretty good to her as well. It was a bit of a nervous reaction, sure she was used to the ground work but this was a little out of the ordinary for her on a whole. Savannah glanced at the person she would be travelling with, at least she would know the face and name and hopefully everyone got out alright. Her eyes glanced at the hand offered to her as she leaned forward to shake his hand for a moment, awkward on a plane but then she couldnt help but smile at the gesture. “Pleasure to meet you too Staff Sergeant and only if you’ll let me travel shotgun? Could always just cling to the roof?” She joked, well it wasnt like they had a choice in the matter orders were orders but still her nerves gave way to jokes as she only managed to relax when she was working and the travelling to and from gave way to thinking which in some cases was worse than being on the ground. Savannah listened to Atwater speak as she listened the more she heard the more difficult all of it sounded though it was what they did right? They trained for things like this though right now she would have taken the training all over again as a refresher. Savannah nodded at the mention of images, at least they would know who to look for and she would have an idea of who she was treating if it came to that. Her attention was taken by Stephanie for a moment as she grinned, “Wouldn’t have it any other way Colonel.” She said nodding, Savannah knew her job and loved it too when things went well. She simply hoped that everyone was in one piece and despite the irony, that they didnt need her. It would likely put her out of a job but the quieter she was the better day everyone else was having she found though it was a strange thing to hope for. Then when she least expected it she heard Stephanie and Markingham, oh this was about to go bad several ways from Sunday she thought staying silent as she saw the headphones fly. She sat back in her chair knowing better than to involve herself, it wasnt that she wouldnt do if it was called for but her head was on the mission at hand and not wondering what other’s thought or what was going on in their heads. She had her job to do as she checked her pack again making sure she had everything that was humanly possible to shove into the medical pack. Tag: Col. Stephanie Huntley, Lt. Col. On board transport flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local time He was glad to hear Atwater talking as he listened, this was what he was good at. Getting in and out reminded him a lot of Mossad except this time instead of a Kidon unit he had a team which was a concept he was still getting used to. Working with others, sure he had done in Mossad but then when you knew the training they had and the closeness that you practically knew each other inside out it made it easier to guess what another team mate might do in a pinch. Working with Delta force it was similar but JTF, it was a new experience to get used to and he knew how he felt about change. Malachi tilted his head slightly as he though over the information, there was little in the way of understanding the situation they were heading into but then he had been given worse. He kept the same stone cold expression on his face as he thought about Lizzie, she had no idea what she was flying into and her new promotion too he could only hope that her head was on her job though he didnt doubt that. Simply he doubted the plane though he had to trust it would keep her in the sky safe and sound. Even with the sense of joking as he listened to the don’t get killed comment he half wanted to reply obviously but then he knew he was better saying little in case he offended anyone. At least Elizabeth knew what he meant half of the time where as even his unit was getting used to it and second guessing what he would be blunt about. Malachi barely raised his eyes as the headphones went flying, case and point the briefings where there for a reason as he almost nodded to what the Colonel was saying. Life or death, Malachi had no issue with the killing he was an assassin and taught by the best but the fastest way to have things go south was to miss vital information. He could remember yelling at a few people in his unit for not listening but then usually people had to know his past to realise how scary he could be. He was a trained assassin and now he change went by Seargent and Delta force a much friendlier title in his head though it still didnt change what he did much. He cleared a path for his team mates to do their jobs. Malachi raised his eyes to glance at the faces for a moment, clearly a few nerves but then it was expected from those who weren’t robotic like he was. He simply kept his head down as he checked his weapons again; he had a range of them on him as you could never be too prepared as he listened to some guy talk about getting through walls and seeing through them. Onboard Transport Flight
Osan to Seorang-dong
0935 Local Time
Adam heard the Staff Sergeant at the same time as the Colonel and opened his mouth about the same time she did so what he was about to say came out as a cough and an amused grin. He walked towards the pair to offer his support by simply standing by so that the woman understood that both of the command staff were on the same page. Adam simply stepped to the side as the headphones flew by and when the Colonel finished addressing the Staff Sergeant he added, "Not only will you take orders, you will follow them to the T or face the consequences... do you copy Markingham?" Adam smirked he knew the woman's name was Markington but if he could find a way to get on her nerves he was going to take it and dare the woman to correct him. Adam wasn't so sure he trusted this one, and that could be dangerous. He almost wished she had been assigned to his extraction team so that he could keep a closer eye on her, but made a note to converse with the Lieutenant in charge of the other team prior to going their separate ways. "Lieutenant Vetelsen, I'd like a word when we land please."
As the Colonel finished with the briefing he returned to his seat, picking up the earbuds on his way. If she was lucky the soldier might get them back for the plane ride home. Sitting down he put his head in his hands and took some time to get his head in the right place, extraction missions were tricky. So many variables, so many things that could go wrong... He was just hoping that everything went smoothly and that this wouldn't end up turning into a recovery mission.

Osan to Seorang-dong
0935 Local Time
Kevin sat back quietly and watched his surroundings taking in the atmosphere and trying to figure out who was who. He figured it would be in his best interest to keep quiet, he had already managed to pass on any information that he had access to and it was his turn to pay attention and learn what his responsibilities would be. Sitting next to Erin he was more than happy to be on the same extraction team with her, at least he knew that the two of them worked well together. Once everyone was done speaking he nudged Erin in the side, and smiled. This was his first deployment with the JTF and he was excited but was definitely taking things seriously.
Having been to several training exercises with the group he was fairly familiar with who most of them were, noticing a few new faces and recalling the names that had been given out he tried to figure out who was who. When Wilson started talking about several different devices that he had with him that might be helpful, he nodded. "You know several of those would probably work really well, maybe even in combination. If we can divvy up some of what we have between the two extraction teams it would give them a definite advantage towards getting in and out quicker and safer."

Even Eric who was usually very chatty knew to keep his mouth shut during all of the happenings on the flight. Taking note of the others on his extraction team and listening to all of the information given he took a moment to think about his family at home. Honestly he hadn't wanted to leave Jamie at home, to be fair it was never easy but at this point it was even harder. He had given the boys strict instructions to take care of their mother. He thought about everything he was missing and was upset with the timing of the mission, until he took a look of the three JTF members that were missing... all of them so young having to endure who knows what with people at home that were missing them and not knowing when or if they would be coming home.
With his newly gained perspective on things he brought himself back to the task at hand and focused on what Wilson was saying about the technology he had with him that might prove useful. When Detective Atwater spoke Eric nodded in agreement with his appraisal of things. Checking his weapons and extra ammo Eric nodded once more when he decided that he was as ready for this as he was ever going to get.

Emilee hadn't said much and continued to remain silent, she unlike some of the others on the flight knew her place. Her place was simply to listen to and follow orders not to question anything. Pulling out the folder she'd been given she looked at the images of the missing members of the team and paused at Lucien's. She was worried for him, and sure hoped that they'd be bringing him and the others home with them.
The two of them had become friends and knowing that he was missing was not easy for her.
Seeing the earbuds go flying across the plane Emilee almost laughed, apparently the Colonel had a penchant for throwing things. First the coffee now the headphones. She was glad that thus far she had managed to avoid making the CO mad.

Onboard Transport Flight Osan to Seorang-Dong 0935 Local Time Susan watched as her headphones were ripped out of her ears and thrown across the room. " Well so much for focusing." she muttered as she heard Adam call her the wrong name. " I'm not even going to correct you guys." Susan said as she began to get angry. She gripped her gun and tried to relax as she looked at Julien. After closing her eyes and falling asleep for a few minutes she scared herself awake. Ever since the incident at the pool, she kept having nightmares and had barely gotten any sleep. As she looked once more at Julien she gave him the " I'm okay, just tired..." look. If he hadn't come to her aide the previous month, she might not have been on this mission. Susan made sure she was on the list for this mission not only to repay her debt to her superior for saving her, but also because she knew it was her job to protect her comrades. There were certain skills that she had that could benefit the mission, should they be needed. Ever since the accident, she had been training non-stop in hand to hand combat. Tag: Lt. On board transport flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local time
Julien had remained quiet as the sniper had been thrown over to him. It was certainly a nice addition but unnecessary - he was with his Remington 700, and all his own kit. He valued traveling light, and this was...well, he did not know what to do with it.
It was only last month that Markington had revealed she had been crushing on him, and it had still not processed through. He slowly placed the Druganov off to one side, as it would be for safe-keeping along their transport plane because he was not lugging two snipers around the place. And, that was when things began to kick off between the Colonel and the Staff Sergeant - and as he had become very well acquainted with, things began to fly. The staff sergeant had gotten off rather lightly, no coffee on board to throw in her face as he watched the earbuds fly through the air before scattering against the floor.
His eyes wandered from Susan to the rest of the crew on board the plane, having missed the look that she had sent his way, some of the faces he knew and others, he would have to get acquainted with on the fly. Mark Wilson, an NCIS agent had begun talking about some new tech that he had brought along with him and how it could come in useful - which was later verbally backed up by the detective Atwater.
He certainly had not gotten a problem with using his legs either.
--
"Lieutenant Vetelsen, I'd like a word when we land please."
"Sure, Lieutenant Colonel." The Norwegian had replied with a nod. There was more information being dished out as he listened to the NCIS agent explain about new technology - his attention grabbed by the next part of his sentence.
“Other idea, if we can find the concrete seams on the wall, a carefully placed charge would be enough to make a hole so that we could get in. Not quiet or subtle but possible.”
Being a demolitions expert, it had spoken to his heart as he knew that like the back of his hand, "Depends on how the insertion to the compound goes. There's still many variables that we still have to figure out - probably on the go as we near the compound. The detective has said that breaching is almost impossible, but I'm sure we'll find a way."
--
Sherman looked around; knowing that they were joined by a couple of civilians and newer members of the force. Being in charge of the vehicles that would eventually bring the teams from A to B and back again, he thought it best if he did a little explaining on his behalf. Caffrey had turned to him, “Pleasure to meet you too Staff Sergeant and only if you’ll let me travel shotgun? Could always just cling to the roof?”
"I'm sure there would be no need for that, ma'am. Certainly got space shotgun for you." Sherman gave her a soft smile.
He cleared his throat as he turned to the colonel, "Uh, ma'am, I was wondering whether it would be possible to give a quick run-down of the Cougar HE, for those who are unacquainted with the vehicle."
To say that he was a little worried about setting the colonel off would be an understatement, he just hoped that his brain was functioning well enough so that he did not fall into a bout of broken English with Russian words sprinkled in between.

Onboard Transport Flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local Time “Other idea, if we can find the concrete seams on the wall, a carefully placed charge would be enough to make a hole so that we could get in. Not quiet or subtle but possible.” If that was the plan, these people were half crazy. Correction, completely nuts. Oh yes, because in her state right now she wanted to deal with anything that was ignited or charged by anything else. Erin felt her stomach drop at Wilson’s words. Pull it together Erin. This is just like breeching in a bust. She knew that wasn’t the case but she was hoping that she could sike herself out, make this easier than it was. Erin knew that most everyone was being quiet or asking questions that were relevant. Then she heard someone ticking off the Colonel. Well then, they have a death wish. Erin wasn’t a member of the military but as it were Amberson was the boss for this mission and Erin’s intel told her that messing with Stephanie especially on a mission like this was a very bad idea. Then there was more of a mess and an insubordination buffet, oh this was going turn out well. Insert excessive sarcasm. Head down, do your job she heard herself chattering in her head. Then Kevin bumped her. Right, she didn’t have to worry about things. Her partner was the best and wasn’t going to let anything happen. She had a feeling that might be the only thing keeping her dad and Kelly sane. Right just like a drug bust. Easy peasy. Tag: Lt. Gustav Vetelsen, Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson, Lt. Col. Savannah Caffery, Sgt. Matt's eyes moved between everyone as he listened to each of them talked while he sat there holding his M4A1 Carbine rifle. An amused grin grew on his face at Stephanie sarcastic quip about following orders. But the smile faded when Susan began shouting over the music she had blasting in her ears. Matt turned his head looking at her as she said, well shouted, everything she had to say. It would have been amusing if they were in boot camp and she was a new recruit in for learning a thing or two and having the too cool for school attitude drilled out of her. But this wasn't boot camp, this was serious and on first impressions Susan was just coming off as someone who was being the a 'cool, look at me I'm a big hero, bad a** soldier' type, and Matt wasn't impressed. The SEAL in him wanted to pull the headphones out of her ear and tell her to act like a professional, not a collage student cramming for a final. They were briefing to go into a mission that already had a lot of challenges and it didn't exactly inspire confidence, especially when he was already adjusting to being on a team comprised of so many different departments, branches and civilians. Then Stephanie took it one step further and Matt stifled a smirk when the headset went flying. Then his eyes turned to Mark as the man began to talk. "Listen, I might have a way to see through the concrete, depending on the thickness. Place this on the wall and if it’s not too thick or shielded we’ll be able to get a basic picture of what’s on the other side of the wall. It’s not facial recognition but it could be useful?” Matt wasn't the most tech savvy person in the military but it sounded good to him. Being able to see through a wall was always a good thing for an entry team right. Not to mention the fact that they could was just cool, even if the images wasn't perfect. It beat going in blind, right? Maybe there was something to working with civilians and military personnel. "Other idea, if we can find the concrete seams on the wall, a carefully placed charge would be enough to make a hole so that we could get in. Not quiet or subtle but possible.” "If you guys could manage it depending on your positions, the laser sights might blind the camera’s for a few seconds, again not subtle but might work?”Ok so there was pros and cons to that idea, the main down side was that it was far from subtle as Mark had acknowledged. And Matt did always opt for stealth whenever possible, but it could be a way in if it came to that. Though it wasn't for Matt to say, it was for Stephanie and Gustav to decide as Matt knew he would be taking his orders from them. Again Matt grinned as banter was exchanged between those on board. Usually he was one for bantering himself but right now he was just taking everything in as well trying to note names and faces. At least there were a few faces he recognized amongst them all. Having been in Tierney for a few months now he had trained with some of them, and a few he had even trained with or worked with before that. So he was confident in knowing that he could count on at least a couple of them to have his back for sure. "Depends on how the insertion to the compound goes. There's still many variables that we still have to figure out - probably on the go as we near the compound. The detective has said that breaching is almost impossible, but I'm sure we'll find a way."Matt concurred, if they had to go over, under, around or through the wall they would find a way in, "I agree. It's probably best if we do a little more recon on the ground, see just what it is we're dealing with and formulate a course of action from there." He chimed in adding his professional opinion, though he knew that would be tricky to do without comes. Lt. Gustav Vetelsen , Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson , Lt. Col. Savannah Caffery , Sgt. Onboard Transport Flight Osan to Seorang-dong 0935 Local Time
He carefully listened and took notes from the mission briefing from his new CO, it was always sad to be in on a hostage rescue operation especially with people from ones own unit, he hadn't heard much about what happened but problematic it was, especially since it was all uncertain. While listening he also made himself a few notes that he was going to take up with the CO after the briefing, he didn't know if this was just how the JTF operated but there were quite a few things that seemed odd to him.
While the others went to their places Cross decided to go over to the CO who he quickly noticed was in a bad mood, which was understandable, not that he was going to bother with that case. "Colonel Amberson?" Cross stood at attention "I have some questions about the briefing" he looked at his own notes "Am I correct in hearing that we're flying these cargo planes 30 kilometres?" he asked curiously "A rough estimate tells me with vehicles we can drive there in 20-25 minutes and a lot quieter.." he looked at Amberson before continuing "When you say keep comms low, you mean until the first shot is fired right?" He felt it was a redundant question as there were no reason not to use radios once the firefight started, especially not with a jet in the air. "And final question what is the contingency plan? What do we do if everything goes south?" he felt every part of this operation made it important, as anyone with just half a battle under their belt knew the best laid plans only worked till the first shot was fired.
Cross kept at attention waiting for the answers while he was making a mental checklist about his vehicle and some other small stuff that needed to be prepared before rolling out, at least he wasn't a big fan of winging it, after all that was how people got killed.

The Lieutenant Colonel saw red and the rest of the conversations were blocked out as he heard Markington mumble under her breath and when she went so far as to say she wasn’t even going to correct them. “Markington… “ He raised his voice, “The Colonel and I will call you what we wish, whether it be Markingham or Mickey Mouse and you WILL answer appropriately and show the appropriate level of respect for your superior officers do you understand? You are also expected to answer any questions asked of you… Not wise to ignore a direct question from a superior. So just this once, I will repeat myself… Your job is to take direct orders and follow them to a T, failure to do so will lead to consequences… Do you understand that?”
When he noticed her gripping her gun, he fixed her with a stare and laughed, “So what are you going to do? Shoot me? Go ahead and try… you’d be dead before you even got a shot off, need I remind you that we are not the only people here with weapons? Let’s get this straight Markington… I am your XO and you will treat me with the respect I deserve, if I see you so much as reach for that weapon again while on board this plane… it will be mine, and you’ll be lucky to get it back before we head into that compound.” Noticing the look the staff sergeant shot the Gunny he looked at him and quirked a brow.
Returning his attention back to the important information being shared by the team members Adam took some deep breaths and became absorbed in the conversation. When he scanned the room he noticed Markington sleeping and if the staff sergeant hadn’t jerked herself awake, Adam would have been more than happy to do it for her. Fixing her with a glare the Lt Col. Spoke, “I suggest we all remain awake for these briefings, there is some very important information being shared and I would prefer for my whole team to be prepared before we breach this compound, it might do well for some of us to keep in mind that these are our own people we’re headed in to save… I’d rather things not go south from the start.”

Susan listened to Ruzek speak to her. " Sir, Yes, sir! Understood sir." she said. " Sir, I'm not unloading my weapon in an aircraft, sir. Aye, Aye, sir!" she added on before closing her eyes. As she did so she once again saw her nightmare begin to form. It scared her so bad that she woke up and was alert now more than before. As she listened to the debrief she stayed awake and alert. The plane shook a few times as they went through a small patch of turbulence. She ignored the shaking and listened to her superiors. Lt. Gustav Vetelsen, Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson, Lt. Col.
