The jet had gone down over North Korean airspace and Elizabeth had been lucky that she’d ejected in time. Then she’d had to answer to the officer’s board. That was protocol for a crash. It had been a living nightmare for months. Now that was all behind her. Then Malachi had gotten orders while she was still out on medical leave. They’d spoken and she’d accepted it, that was part of how it worked. Sometimes they’d be shipped out together and sometimes separate. Though that weaved it’s way into her nightmare. The jet crashed into the river and the face of the person ejected person came into focus. She was watching her crash from the outside looking in. “Malachi! Lo!” She awoke with a start. Sweat pouring down her face. Gripping her hand into a fist she was clearly on the offensive. Whomeever had done this… The voice over the radio it belonged to him. Even though she was awake the rest of everything played in her head. Lizzie jumped at the images in her head as she sat up awake. She had screamed out enough to wake up Gabriel who was working on getting out of his bed to come investigate. His three year old sister wasn’t far behind. It wasn’t until she heard Gabriel in the doorway calling for her that she realized it was a dream. Malachi was laying beneath her and she had him pinned by the neck. Quickly letting go the second she realized it she tried to process what had just happened. Tag: Sgt. Malachi Dovev

Lizzie’s jet going down over North Korea only reaffirmed his reasoning to have her on the ground. Flying was dangerous and unlike a boat sinking, you could swim but humans couldnt fly. Yes it was how they had met and he wouldnt change it at all, he knew she loved to fly but he loved that she was alive to love it. Was it really too much to ask that she stay in the sky and not crash back down to earth though he hadn’t said much as he knew it would only start and argument. That was really the last thing he wanted for her as she was already out on medical leave. As if Malachi needed anything extra he managed to get orders to leave while she was home. They talked and it was accepted even if Malachi was less than happy about it but orders were orders. Malachi had stayed awake as long as he could to make sure Lizzie was alright, even if it was creepy to watch her sleep he was just glad he had the chance though when he heard her scream and say his name. He regretted not staying awake longer. His eyes flared open as he was about to get up when he realised that Lizzie was on top of him and had him pinned by the neck. It was the one thing he hated more than anything, it had taken him long enough to let her touch his neck without batting her hand away or acting as if she had just tried to kill him. All Malachi could do was lay there as his hands gripped the bed sheets terrified to move an inch. He wasnt as terrified of her hand where it was more than what he might do if he did move. Malachi wasnt sure he could stop himself from reacting to her, muscle memory or fear or a little of both and it could end badly. Malachi could feel himself tense everywhere, he practically all but stopped breathing as he refused to move an inch just in case he hurt her. Staring up at Lizzie Malachi wasnt sure what to do until Gabriel seemed to bring her back to reality. Malachi shot out from beneath her like a scalded cat, gasping for breath more from holding it than anything else as his hand rubbed over his neck as he went to the door for Gabriel. “Ima ve Abba are alright. Gabriel, it’s time for you to sleep now I need you to be brave and sleep so your sister does too. Everything’s okay. Now go back to bed.” (Mother and father) Malachi said trying to smile even if he didnt believe it himself. Malachi turned back to face Lizzie as he made his way cautiously back to the bed. “Lizzie, ahavah?” He asked softly with maybe a hint of caution behind it. “What’s wrong, what happened?” He asked figuring she had a nightmare unless she really did what to kill him or terrify him. The second of the two she had achieved with stunning accuracy as he watched Lizzie wanting to make sure she was back in the room and not still in her head with whatever had caused her to scream, make a fist and put her hand on his throat. The moment she recognized it was Malachi’s voice she wrapped her arms around him and buried her head. Then came the questions of what was wrong and what had happened. She wasn’t sure how to answer right away. So she did what she did best when she was sitting on emotions. Just started talking about nothing that made sense. Her voice was soft but sounded like she was taking things hard on herself. “I broke a promise. Malachi. I’m sorry.” She’d promised to never hurt him. In fact, she’d always been so gentle around him. Then all of this. “That’s not okay.” She didn’t lift her head as she just cried into his shoulder. The nightmare lay forgotten in the moment of her realization that she’d attacked him. Her face was full of horror at the thought. Her fingers slowly came up towards his neck. If he moved away she would understand but she wanted to see how much of trust she’d just broken with a complete accident. There was a deep sigh. Elizabeth tried to come to grips with what happened in her head. “I.. You… You were flying… I was watching and someone came after me. I reacted.” She finally fumbled out what she was trying to say. “But that’s no excuse.” Elizabeth sat back on the bed and took a few deep breaths. Gabriel came over and climbed up on the end of the bed. His face expectant as if he could stay and snuggle for the night. Lizzie wasn’t about to turn any of the children away. She wrapped her arms around Gabriel as he came to snuggle. Her head rested on Gabriel’s head as she looked towards Malachi. Just realizing that it was all a nightmare and that everyone was safe, seemed to be helping. Tag: Sgt. Malachi Dovev

Malachi was still stunned by what had happened, his head was catching up when she wrapped her arms around him and buried her head. All he could do was ask that next question, what was wrong? No one was there, nothing could hurt them though by the way it sounded Lizzie was taking it hard on herself. “Promise, no broken promise. Nothing’s broken.” He said still not quiet understanding what she was meaning though promises were meant to be kept. It was one thing he was entirely sure about, promises were never broken and if they were it had to be a very good reason for it. He wrapped his arms around her nervously, Malachi could still feel the outline of her fingers around his throat and it scared him. He hadn’t ever been overly comfortable about being touched on a whole but they had worked that out. Touching his neck had taken longer and they had worked that out too until then it seemed. “It’s okay.” He said though when he saw her fingers slowly coming up toward his neck he couldnt stop himself. Reactions were just that, uncontrollable and his heart was still beating like a freight train as his hand grabbed hold of her wrist. Malachi kept his touch light so as not to hurt her though right in that moment, her hand anywhere near his neck. No, he wasnt about to admit it but he was scared and impressed but mostly scared. He was impressed she had done it and now at least he knew if anything did happen and he lost it she would know exactly where to go for first. It also scared him because he didn’t have weaknesses, he didnt let people in and the one person he had let close to him. She knew his weaknesses better than anyone and had just used it. Malachi leaned down and kissed the tips of her fingers before he let go of her wrist though he was still on alert for anything going wrong. Malachi listened to Lizzie, he was flying well that made no logical sense since he found it hard to step on a plane so flying was just a dream and certainly not his dream. Even though he realised it was just a nightmare Malachi still wanted to tear apart the person who had come after her, nightmare or not his wife was safe. That was also a promise. Scared wasnt a feeling Malachi knew well as he tried to push it away as he watched Lizzie sit back on the bed and Gabriel come over. He wasn’t about to argue with him to go back to bed at all right now, in fact it was probably a good thing he was there as he watched Gabriel and Lizzie. It was then that Malachi laughed. Not his usual laugh, far from it. A nervous, scared version of a laugh that seemed to try to mask about every other thing that was running through his head. “I don’t fly.” He stated still laughing, “I would never fly... I can’t fly... I don’t like planes.” Malachi knew he was going over what they both knew already but it felt like any familiar ground right now was good. Malachi sat on the bed as he cautiously moved toward Elizabeth and Gabriel. Her hands were wrapped around their son as he wrapped his own around Lizzie. He couldn’t help but keep a close watch on her hands as he shook his head. “You never need an excuse, you’re safe and it is the one thing that matters.” He said in a serious tone as he lost the laughter. “No one can hurt you, I promise to keep you safe. Good reaction too, I am impressed that you can do that.” Malachi added, leaving the 'sleep with one eye open forever more', scared to death version from that sentence as he was trying to be positive which wasn’t really him either. He was more a this is it or this is the plan kind. Positivity was his only way when he didnt know what to do. Tag: Lt. Col. Elizabeth Dovev

Elizabeth focused on getting Gabriel to go back to sleep before she got up and started to pace the room. Lizzie leaned her head on the wall. Of course she was taking things on herself. She'd just attacked her husband. There was no excuse for that. She hid tears, what had she done? It wasn't until she sat down once more that the full reality hit her. When he took her fingers away from his neck, het body froze up and she closed eyes. Lizzie pulled her hand away and got back up. This time she sat in the bathroom to hide her tears. The last thing she needed was Malachi to get onto her for the emotions she was feeling. Lizzie was more upset that she'd hurt him, asleep or not they'd worked too hard on this and them. Malachi wasn't helping much as he talked. Impressed, ha that mattered little to her right now. She stared at herself in the bathroom mirror. Who was she? She was making herself sick. She leaned over to spill the contents of her stomach in the toilet. She was glad she'd locked the bathroom door, Malachi didn't need to see this. Tag: Sgt. Malachi watched Lizzie pace around the room, he was used to her fidgeting but nothing like this. He wished he could fix something or maybe he should have pretended to still be asleep, not to have noticed it but then his neck was the one place he didnt like to be touched. Well more than every other place and the fact that had happened, sure it scared him because no one else would have ever been that close to him. Taking her fingers away was a reaction, she had just tried to strangle him or if it wasnt that it was something similar. Her hand being near him, no he couldnt deal with that right at that moment. What he was saying didnt seem to be helping either as Malachi sat against the bathroom door, he was in half a mind to just break in. He knew he could but then he wasnt sure how Lizzie would take it or if she even wanted to see him right then. Maybe he should have said something differently, told her that it was okay but he had done. Now she was locked in the bathroom as he tried the handle to the door only to hear her being ill afterwards. Malachi didnt know what to think as he got to his feet and knocked on the door cautiously. “Lizzie, I’ll be right back.” He said as he took a few steps out of there room. Malachi wasnt sure what he needed to do but if Lizzie was sick then people needed to eat so dry toast. That worked or he had heard it would. If she was spilling her contents of her stomach into the toilet he couldnt exactly just stand there and be okay with that. He made his way downstairs quickly as he put in two slices of bread to the toaster. His eyes scanned the kitchen trying to figure out what to do for her though it made no sense what was going on. It was a moment of madness or just his strange mind working overtime as he unplugged the kettle making sure it had water in it as he grabbed a cup and put the tea into it. Lizzie was part British so tea and toast, it was a thing he was sure as he read it or had seen it somewhere. Grabbing the toast and cutting into triangles as he pushed it onto a plate Malachi headed back up to their room as he place the kettle and cup on the dresser. He plugged it in as he could hear the beginnings of the kettle boiling. “Lizzie, I’m back. It’s okay you know, you didn’t hurt me.” He announced though he wasnt sure that would make anything better as he lay on the floor. The plate of toast by him as he attempted to poke one of the triangles of toast under the door. It took a moment and a fair amount of crunching toast sounds before he managed to shove a piece under the door. Crumbs were everywhere but the toast had lived to get under the door in a reasonable state.“I made you toast, you should eat something if you’re not well.” Malachi stated as if this was a normal part of life before he realised that trying to get toast under a door and then having it on the floor wasnt a great idea. “Just don’t eat that piece, I’ve got more out here if you will open the door?” He asked as he held the plate as sort of peace offering. Malachi knew that she hadn’t had the easiest of times but Lizzie had never done this before he thought, his mind working like mad to think of something he could say or do to help her. As soon as the kettle pinged to announce it had boiled another thought came to his head. Apart from illness the last time Lizzie had been sick was when the kids were there as he stared at the door. Surely she would have said he thought not too sure what to do other than stare. “Lizzie, do you want to talk to me?” He asked trying to leave it as open as possible so it could cover at least every form of talk there was. Elizabeth had worked so long to gain his trust, to get him to relax. That was supposed to remind him that she could trust him and now waking from her nightmare, she’d undone years of trust and probably much more. Lizzie leaned against the wall, she was sick to her stomach because she was upset. It happened and she was hardly taking things well. There was so much running through her mind that she wasn’t sure she wanted to talk. There was always the chance that Malachi would take things from her the wrong way. That would only make things worse, it was better to stay quiet and not talk about things but look what happened when she bottled things up and didn’t talk about them. Then again she’d been defending herself in her dream. She’d not been awake. Sighing she picked up the cat toy that was laying on the floor and plunked it against the bathtub. The jingling and thumping sound woke up Lucifer who came wandering out of the linen closet. He went over to investigate the ball and then came over to plop beside Lizzie. Now he wanted to play as he nibbled on her fingers. That was around the time that Malachi explained he would be right back. Lizzie started rolling the ball for the cat. That was until the cat saw the toast under the door and decided that toast that was on the floor was fair game. Lizzie watched the cat and shook her head. Malachi was trying, but Liz wasn’t sure what she wanted right now. Watching the black cat pawing under the door thinking it was time to play she smiled a little to herself. At least the cat wasn’t holding anything against him. Then again he had food. It wasn’t okay, that was the whole point. It helped that he’d not hurt her but that didn’t mean that it made it okay. Lizzie took things hard and it didn’t make this any easier. When he said she needed to eat, she couldn’t exactly argue with him over it. That never went well. Lizzie unlocked the door but didn’t open it as she leaned her head on the side of the vanity cabinet. Lizzie eventually made the move to open the door. What greeted him was the face of someone who was hiding things. Liz didn’t sit long and tried to get up pulling herself up on the vanity counter. This was clearly her upset with something, and it was at herself. Did she want to talk? Ha. “I don’t want to talk to anyone.” She was at least being honest and not singling him out. For her to not want to talk to her mother or her dad meant she was extremely upset and internalizing more than she was going to let on. Tag: Sgt. Malachi Dovev

Malachi wasnt sure what to think about what had happened, Lizzie had never done that before to him and she knew he didnt like it. It had taken them long enough to get where they were and sure it hadn’t destroyed everything but he had trusted her never to go there. Like the skeleton at the back of the closet, Lizzie knew what it was but he didnt ever expected it to be used against him unless he for some reason had lost his mind. Malachi had been asleep, a state that he felt comfortable with at home until about five minutes ago though he couldnt blame Lizzie at all. A nightmare was just that a nightmare even if it didnt make any sense to him being on the receiving end of it. Malachi watched as he saw Lucifer’s paw come under the door, yeah he wasnt going to put his fingers anywhere near that door now. The cat was Lizzie’s, Malachi was convinced it liked her a lot more than him and a cat claw scratch or mark hurt like hell. If people needed to take anything to war it would a crazy cat because those cuts and scratches would hang around for ages and still hurt probably more than most of what he had known to. Malachi was doing his best to try and make things easier on her, he wasnt sure what could help or work but he was trying what he knew. He couldnt deny the feeling of relief when he heard the click of the bathroom door lock. It took about everything he had to sit there and not open the door himself though he couldnt deny he was a little tense about it. Lizzie had knowingly or unknowingly attacked him before so he didnt know what state she was in behind the door now. It was stupid to think it but Malachi couldnt help but feel a little tense at the situation, after all he had things to hand to fight with but toast wasnt exactly conventional and he wasnt about to fight with her. It was like watching and waiting for that point in a movie where you thought you knew what would happen, and just like that it didnt. Malachi expected her to come back at him for some reason, toast on the floor or leaving to get it or any one of a hundred reasons he had thought up in his head. All he saw was the face he recognised for her hiding things. Malachi got up when he saw Lizzie do the same as he put the toast on the cabinet away from Lucifer. “Then don’t talk.” Malachi said fighting the urge to argue for her to talk. He knew how that conversation went but there was plenty of time to argue over her talking he figured. Malachi knew that Lizzie not talking to her parents meant that things were a lot worse than just a toast issue or not eating. “If you’re not talking then you can listen instead.” Malachi stated as he took a few cautious steps into the bathroom. “It was just a nightmare like you said, things happen. It wasn’t real.” Malachi explained trying to make her feel better as he held out his hands to her. “Please give me your hands?” He asked Lizzie not sure he wanted to do what he was thinking but then again seeing how upset she was, he didnt want to leave things as they were. Malachi wanted to bring her hands up to his neck again. He couldnt deny he was a little scared or really terrified of what might happen but he trusted her. There was no denying that at all as he tried not to show any fear, it was just another one of their things to work on more he figured. Just another thing to try and work on. “It’s okay, you’re safe. It’s okay. Just trust me, put your hands on my neck again, I trust you.” He repeated as he wondered if she would trust him to do that or not. “And just so I know, does not talking to anyone mean me too?” Malachi asked figuring it was a yes but there was slim chance it might be no or he hoped it would be. “Because I’m your husband so not just anyone, if that’s okay with you. On the husband count and the anyone count too.” He asked her trying to be sure of at least one thing that morning. Tag: Lt. Col. Elizabeth Dovev

It didn’t matter if Malachi blamed her or not, she was going to blame herself. Conscious thought or nightmare mattered little to her. It had been her hands. She balled her hands up, Lizzie refused to sit still. Fury was just fueling her inside, but she didn’t show it. Her pacing was usual, her not sitting still that was normal. She watched the cat playing with the toast. Lucifer was just a kitten and was still learning. It wasn’t that he was malicious, he just liked to nibble and apparently Malachi tasted yummy. Picking the kitten up she cuddled him up in her arms. Soft purring could be barely audible as he did. Lizzie stared down into his black fur coat, ruffling it on the edges before putting him down. He scampered off into the bathtub to go investigate what Lizzie had been doing in the bathtub. He seemed content with the drops of water in the sink once he’d realized they were there. So many fun things to explore and Elizabeth just watched him from a distance. Her focus on something so distant from what had just happened in her nightmares. Liz far from wanted to talk or listen. Though now was no time to go pushing her boundaries like she did on so many occasions. Lizzie was silent taking a piece of toast off of the plate and more of spinning it around in her hands for a second or two before taking a small bite of it. He’d made it, and it gave her an excuse to not have to say anything as she looked away from the mirror. What had she done? When he asked for her hands she backed away. Lizzie knew exactly where this was going and she wasn’t about to make him feel uncomfortable. He didn’t want to be touched. He’d already proven that. Mentally, she was taking things a lot harder than she was going to let on. It had taken years to get him to trust her, she’d shattered it. It wasn’t like she expected it to just pop back in an instant. No, she knew better. If this was to appease her, that wasn’t what she wanted. She knew she was safe now, that wasn’t the issue anymore. Lizzie broke the toast slice in half and then in half again. Liz just always had to be moving and fidgeting, the more she was silent the more she would fidget and think and dwell on things. Assurances and even questions she was silent. It took a moment until she looked towards him; her face void of emotions. “I’m not ready to talk about things.” She was honest. It wasn’t like pushing Liz to talk was ever really going to help. “Words are coming out of my mouth to you though, are they not?” Okay so she was being a sarcastic brat but she wasn’t ready to explain her emotions. They were holding a conversation. That constituted as talking right? She finished off the single triangle of toast she’d started on trying to figure out what he wanted. Tag: Sgt. Malachi Dovev

Malachi could see that things were off, even through her pacing that was usual and her not sitting still which on his best day he couldnt understand. If she started off on the couch she would sit on the floor but when he pointed to where she would end up instead of just going there straight off. She went through every stage of it, Malachi didnt pretend to understand it but he loved her for it though today all he wanted to do was help her. Yes she had hurt him well not so much hurt more scared him but then at the end of the day he was still alive. He watched her pick up the kitten, the same one that preferred him to for dinner which he wasn’t overly fond of. Malachi had no idea how to make things any easier for Lizzie, he wanted to and if he could have traded places with her in the sky as much as he hated flying he would have done in a heart beat. Still it wasnt like he could change a thing now though Malachi was worried when Lizzie back away when he asked for her hands. For a minute he thought he had hurt her though he didnt remember that, all he could remember was that paralyzing fear of what might happen. The battle that he wanted her hand off his throat but he vowed never to hurt her. The trust that had been broken he had no doubt could be rebuilt but it would take time again to do so and he was trying to make her feel better by pushing himself do that. He wanted her to know that it didnt matter to him, at the time yes it had but she couldn’t help a nightmare. "Just know it's okay. It was an accident and I just want you to know that." he said wanting to appease her but also himself given he didn't want to flinch if she tried to touch his neck and cause an issue later on. They had worked too hard for that. He was thankful when she ate a piece of the toast, for one she was eating so that was good in his mind. The silence wasnt exactly reassuring but Malachi had always been one to ask her to talk more than he would ever share, mostly feelings he didnt do too well but he wanted Lizzie to share hers because at least then he knew what he was deal with. It was her face that was void of emotions that worried him. “Okay but I am right here when you are and I won’t go anywhere.” He said, sure enough he had to deploy soon but right then he was sticking with her. Malachi chuckled when he heard her sarcastic reply, out of everything that morning it was nice to know what was familiar to him as he nodded. “Yes they are and thank you for talking to me.” He replied as he watched her finish off the single triangle of toast. “But I heard you earlier you were sick so I am just checking if you are... you know? Or not or if it’s just a cold or a bug or something that you know?” He asked watching her wondering if he had missed something or not. Sure another child was a hell of a thing to have missed but then Malachi wasn’t really sure where his brain was at given she had scared him half to death and thinking clearly wasnt really working out. “That you’d know if you were because if you are then I don’t want you to worry about anything and if you’re not you’re not to worry either.” He said trying to explain things or at least attempt to his thinking, another baby made sense given her being ill but then it didn’t because he didnt know about it not that he would right away. It never occurred to him that it might have been a reaction to what had happened or at least not yet as he was still trying to work it out himself. “Do you feel any better now?” He added, Malachi was worried about her and he understood not being ready to talk but he had never really done well with that side of things. Lizzie was trying to come to terms with a trust she’d just broken and it was hard for her. She brushed faces with the kitten and tossed his toy for him to go play with. They’d gotten him after their other cat had run away. Liz was under the impression Malachi just needed to spend more time with the kitten and they’d be best friends. It had worked with the last one. Hearing him tell her it was okay, she wanted to believe it but she wasn’t going to believe it until she did things her way. If he was trying to manipulate her into doing what he was asking, it was working. Though she ran her fingers over his lips and cheek. Eventually she worked her way closer to his neck but only ran her pinky finger over the side. Liz watched him, cautiously she added more fingers to her light caresses. Her fingers did little more than brush over his neck. She stopped not wanting to make him feel anymore uncomfortable than she probably already had. Though Liz wasn’t sure how much he trusted her now not to hurt him. She’d broken a promise and that didn’t sit right with her. Accident or no accident. She knew Malachi was there he’d always been there. That wasn’t the issue right now. Processing things was a far cry from simple. Lizzie on her best days was fun and sarcastic. Though as she finished off her toast it was quite amusing to hear him think she was getting sick because of another child. “Lo, I am upset with myself that it’s physically making me ill.” She sighed looking up to him realizing she had to admit more than she wanted to do. Dammit Malachi. “I think we have enough fights over missing blocks in the house don’t you?” She chuckled a little. Though Lizzie had already told him she’d let him have as many kids as he wanted. It was a joy to raise their family, even as stressful as it could be at times. She had been one of seven children. The youngest for a long while. “Is this your way of telling me you want to have more?” Liz questioned it because it had seemingly come out of no where. Maybe as a ploy to get her to talk. Lizzie had finally sat on the bed, probably a place she wouldn’t stay for long unless she tried to lay down but she was far from feeling like she was ready to lay down. “Are you asking me if I can forgive myself?” She shrugged. “My stomach feels better but this won’t just go away. I broke a promise Malachi. That will haunt me.” Liz had a bad tendency to dwell on certain things. She’d always been hard on herself and pushed herself to be a better person. Was that what she wanted to teach their children? That it was okay to break promises. Liz ran a hand through Gabriel’s hair as he slept on their bed. She couldn’t help but see Malachi etched in the little boy’s face. She had vowed to take care of his their family and she was failing in her own eyes. How her mother had the strength at times, she wished she knew. Lifting her eyes towards her husband, she let her face show everything she had been trying to hold back. A few stray tears showing way again. “I failed. I’m sorry Malachi.” She would apologize until she was blue in the face. Tag: Sgt. Malachi Dovev

Malachi and cats, they were each as stubborn as the other so spending more time with the kitten. Malachi found that no cat ever did what he wanted it to, sit, stay, lay down all things that dogs would do but a cat. Nope there wasnt a chance he could train a cat other than to stare at him and think he was nuts. In telling her it was okay all he wanted to do was make it that way for Lizzie. The minute she ran her fingers over his lips and cheek he could feel the slight tensing that started in his shoulders. Her touch was relaxing to him and she was the one person he trusted to touch his neck. Even now he didn’t pull away or openly flinch at her touch though he was glad when she added more fingers to her light caresses. He couldnt say he was overly comfortable in the beginning but as she continued he could feel himself relax a little. He wanted to make a difference that she knew she could still do that, sure he still trusted her though maybe he needed to work on that a lot more. He couldnt ever say he didnt have trust issues and the fact that the one person he trusted more than any other had done the one thing he hated, sure it rocked things a little. Then again at least he knew she could, it had been tried and tested despite the fact he wasnt sure that he would get much sleep for watching Lizzie now. Not entirely because of what had happened but to make sure he could wake her in case of a nightmare. Stop things before his throat was grabbed again. Malachi hadn’t a clue what to think about her being ill, he wasnt used to her being this upset over something and the first thing had jumped to his head was that. Well he could always say after he was woken up his brain wasnt exactly functioning correctly. Malachi just nodded to her when she admitted things. “Lizzie stop it, it’s done with and no one is hurt here. You don’t need to be upset with yourself for any of it. You don’t need to be ill at all or I will keep making you toast until you eat it all.” He said knowing he would do simply because she had to eat and being ill meant that things weren’t where they needed to be. “Ahavah, there are too many missing blocks and my feet find them in the dark. No more fighting for blocks.” He said knowing that fight inside out. Who had it, who stole it, sibling against sibling, crying, tantrums all to find it was that one piece he had stood on a day ago and put it in the fruit bowl so he wouldnt forget to put it back. And he forgot. So after it was established where the missing blocks were the whole argument was done with and a new toy was substituted which always confused him as to why they were arguing in the first place. “I would never tell you Lizzie and if you want more then yes we can have as many as you want to have.” Malachi said knowing he had been an only sibling so to him even having one brother or sister would have made a difference. “I just thought that you were because of the ... and it is okay if you are I just thought it made sense Ahavah. Unless you want to have more?” Malachi asked her not sure if Lizzie was trying to tell him that she did want more children. Maybe it was too early for that conversation or he just didnt quiet know how to dig himself out of jumping off whatever cliff he had thought he had seen when the idea made sense in his head. Malachi was glad when she sat down on the bed though he knew she wouldnt stay there long. It was her thing that she moved around a lot. “Then I am going to tell you to forgive yourself because there isn’t anything to be forgiven. You didn’t break a promise Lizzie, there isn’t anything to haunt you because you had a nightmare. It was an accident and I know you didn’t mean it.” He said hoping that she hadn’t but then she wouldnt be ill over it if she had. And he was pretty sure he wouldnt be alive right now if she had wanted to do him harm. Seeing Lizzie with Gabriel Malachi smiled though his heart practically broken when he saw on her face everything that she had tried to hold back. The tears and her words, no this wasnt right at all as he shook his head. Malachi knelt down on the floor in front of her as he smiled. “Apology not accepted because there’s nothing to be sorry about Ahavah.” Malachi said firmly as he reached up a hand slowly to wipe away her tears gently. “You haven’t failed Lizzie, you never fail. Look at Gabriel, would he be sleeping like that if something was wrong? No, you are amazing more amazing than I can ever show or tell you but you have the proof right there in front of you.” Malachi said seriously, he meant every word and if it took him ten years or a hundred to let her know that she hadn’t failed at anything he would do that. “You have never failed and don’t you even go around thinking that for a second. You are a superhero to the kids and to me too because if it wasn’t for you then we cannot be us or this family.” He said trying to make his point. Tag: Lt. Col. Elizabeth Dovev

The family was far too busy for a dog. It wasn’t fair to the dog. Cats on the other hand were mostly self sufficient but brought Lizzie comfort. Elizabeth was an animal person and always had been. She watched Lucifer galavant off out of the room as she turned her attention to her husband. Lizzie was locked in her own head. It was a painful mess in there. Lizzie could tell he was nervous about her hands being there, she knew it was hardly the same but as he relaxed so did she. Though her head was a warzone. It wasn’t easy to handle and her handling things herself in regards to the crash was going so well. She could sense the sarcasm in the whole things going well. Her hands dropped as she rested her head along his shoulder and stared down at her fingers. Liz was still having a hard time forgiving herself. Hearing Malachi tell her to stop it all she could do was nod. Though she wasn’t even sure she could get there. Sure she could stop talking about, but nothing could stop her from feeling guilty. “Not physically. But I know better.” She argued the point that this would stay between them for a while whether they wanted it to or not. If roles had been reversed, she knew sleep wouldn’t be easy. Though he acted as if she could control being ill. No, it was because she cared so much. Lizzie was fine with more children or fine with three. It wasn’t a big ordeal to her. As long as her family was happy and healthy that was all that mattered to her. “You are changing the topic, Malachi.” Right, she was guilty of changing the subject too when she didn’t want to discuss something and he would call her out on it too. As much as she wanted to take the distraction… yes, that was not happening. There was no response for him telling him to forgive herself. Not one that didn’t make her cry harder. It took a strong person to come up with those words. Then things spiraled to the whole him not accepting her apology. His firm tone, despite that she leaned into the hand he extended in her direction. She definitely didn’t understand him right now, but somehow he managed to settle her. His hands running over face, she closed her eyes and just tried to relax. Lizzie knelt down beside Malachi and put her arms around him just hugging him close. He’d asked a question and then answered it. Leaving her no room to argue she opened her mouth to argue with him but failed at words. The only thing that came out was a sigh as she didn’t let go of him. “He’s a Dovev, he’s capable of hiding things well.” She teased poking Malachi in the side. Of the two Malachi hid just about everything but Liz was always expected to talk about things. But she always felt better when she did talk. That she had to give him credit for. Elizabeth kissed Malachi’s bottom lip, it was more of a way to comfort herself as she didn’t let go of his bottom lip for a moment. Why did her soulmate have to be right? Why did he always make sense? Sometimes she hated him for it. But she always loved him, regardless. She knew he felt the same at times. It was evident in his demeanor. “I hate you.” She whispered. That was always code for being right because hated when he was right. Tag: Sgt. Malachi Dovev

The accident had scared him to death, there was a reason humans shouldn’t fly because they had no wings. He knew Lizzie was a great pilot but the fact he was on the ground helpless to do anything to help her, that was the most annoying and terrifying part. They had met through a plane crash, it seemed to be the running theme for them but Malachi knew a lot better now than to start the new career argument or no flying ever again. It would never happen and all he wanted was for his wife to be safe. At that moment she was on leave so it was all he could ask for that at least at home she was safe. It had scared him what she did and yes it would take time to get things back to where they were before but Malachi trusted if anyone could do it they could. They had done it the first time and that wasnt easy so second time around it might be a little easier right? Malachi knew if the tables were turned he wouldnt be so quick to forgive himself over it but that was different. That was him and they were talking about Lizzie. Sure he had double standards for everything in life, it wasnt her fault what happened and she needed to forgive herself before it ate at her too much. “Lizzie it was a mistake, I dont want you worrying over it. See were almost back to normal now, it might take a day or two but things happen. It’s okay and you’re okay.” He said though he knew it wasnt like it could be fixed just like that, it would take time and work like everything and that Malachi didnt want to admit to her. No she was fine and that was all that mattered to him. Malachi sighed and grinned a little when she called him out on changing the subject. He could do that and he knew all too well Lizzie could do the same though sure if she wanted to talk about kids then he could do that. After all if she was pregnant then that meant to flying for a while, after the child was born no flying for maternity leave so really... Malachi almost cursed himself for not thinking of it before. “Then yes I would love more children, you have a big family and we can afford it so if you want to then I’m not against adding to the family. My one condition to that is that they are like you Lizzie not me.” Malachi said seriously, plus the while getting to that point wasnt exactly lacking in fun either. He hadn’t meant to make her cry anymore as he tried to wipe away her tears no matter how fast they kept coming. He didnt hold it against her as it was an accident, he could have done the exact same to her over anything that he had done. He was relieved when she leaned into his hand seeing that she was settling a little. It was all he wanted for her to forgive herself and just relax about it. It was a simple misunderstanding, he had a lot of those over his life so in his mind Lizzie just needed to relax about it. Malachi wrapped his arms around her when she knelt down beside him. There wasnt anything better in the world than having her in his arms. He was happy and couldnt hide the smirk when she tried to argue the question he had already answered for her, well he wasnt going to have her thinking she had failed at anything. Simply because it wasnt true. She was his hero in everything she did and it was about time she knew it. Malachi chuckled quietly when she poked him in side as he returned the favour tickling at her side lightly. “He is but he’s a happy kid too. You did and are doing that, Dovev or not you are still superwoman to all of us here Lizzie. Just don’t let him into the military. He needs to get a nice safe job.” Malachi said as he wasnt even wanting to have that conversation. Nope their kids were going to be quiet desk workers that the most dangerous things became were a paper cut. Kissing her back Malachi didnt pull away as she held his bottom lip for a moment. Things were starting to get back to a normal of a sense he thought. He enjoyed being right as it wasnt too often but when he was, it was a nice feeling. Usually Lizzie was right about things and it took her long enough to make him understand why though he loved it all the same. He loved her for everything no matter what they argued about or said or even when he had to admit he was wrong. It didnt matter because he loved her no matter what. Hearing that she hated him Malachi grinned at her, sure to anyone outside they might think it was a horrid thing to say but Malachi understood the code for that. “I hate you too.” He whispered right back at her as he wrapped his arms tighter around her. “And I love you more.” He added just in case she picked him up wrong. Malachi kissed over her cheek and neck for a moment simply so she knew things were alright. Tag: Lt. Col. Elizabeth Dovev
