Remington walked into the bar and sat down at the counter. "Tequila," he requested when the bartender looked at him. Yeah, it was one of those nights. Maybe this wasn't the best way to deal with things, but he didn't care. And what things would he be dealing with, one may ask? That was simple. He had had a fight with Mikael, who had found out about a con that he was interested in, and in her opinion, it was too dangerous of a risk for him. But hey, what did she know? It wasn't like he hadn't done this before. Okay, yes, gun running was a little more risky than pulling a bank job, but it paid well, and that was all that mattered. So why couldn't she see that? Oh well. It wasn't the first fight they had had, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. He'd just deal with it the way he always did: get drunk and then sleep it off in a hotel. It had worked in the past and it would work now. He just hoped that he could get her to see reason when they talked about this again.
He then gave himself a mental shake. He wasn't going to worry about that right now. No, he'd just go with his plan and get drunk. Getting drunk was good. It'd help him forget the fight. And he wanted to forget. He didn't like it when they fought. She was his best friend and to think that she didn't have faith in him to pull off the job hurt. Why doesn't she believe I can do this? he thought to himself. And he was going to prove it. He'd show her. This was a good gig for him. Sure it had risks, but what job didn't? It was going to be good for them. She'd see...

Jessica's bubbly smile was as bright as the colourful, floral printed dress she was wearing as she walked over to the bar holding her friends arm with both hands and giggling happily, though not in a loud way. She had been out with a friend and they had decided to keep the fun going by stopped off for a drink or two. "Tequila, please." She said smiling at the bartender politely and the bartender couldn't help but smile back lightly, there was just something very cute and almost innocent looking about the 5'4" red haired woman as she stood there gently resting her fingertips on the high bar. Even though she was clearly a grown woman, there was something about her that seemed so sweet and bubbly, almost like a young lady who's daddy had let out drinking for the first time. The bartender then looked to her friend awaiting her order, "Can I have a pink raspberry cosmopolitan, please?" She asked, "Coming up, ladies." He bartender said before turning away to make the drinks. "This is so much fun." Jess said to her friend with a smile. Her friend grinned in agreement, but it was then that her friends phone buzzed, pulling it out of her hand bag she looked at it and frowned slightly, "I have to go." "Is everything alright?" Jess asked, "Nothing to worry about but I have to run. Sorry babe." Her friend assured her, "Finish my drink for me. Have fun and get home safe." She said giving Jess a half hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Ok. I'll call you tomorrow." Jess said kissing her friend's cheek in return and seeing her off before turning back around to face the bar as the bartender put the Tequila and pink raspberry cosmopolitan on the counter. As he waited for his drink, Remy's attention was caught as two women walked in. He watched as they sat down and talked and drank for a while before one of their phones rang. He turned his attention away as the two conversed. This wasn't any of his business. He wasn't going to bother them. After all, they had most likely come here to unwind and get drunk, same as him. Not that he knew this for sure, he was just theorizing. And to be honest, that had gotten him into trouble before, so yeah, he was going to stay silent this time around. Yeah, that sounded good.
When his drink came, he smiled politely at the bartender "Thanks," he said and then glanced at the woman at the table. "Would you like some company or are you wanting to be alone?" he asked. The last thing he wanted was to interrupt her evening, but she had been abandoned, so...maybe she wouldn't mind him joining her. He just didn't know. And he didn't want to intrude.

Jess downed the Tequila in two goes and left the glass on the bar before picking up her Cosmo and sitting down. She sat in peaceful silence and her mind slipped into its own happy little world until she heard someone speak to her. She looked up as her mind took a short moment to come back and she looked over to the gentleman who had spoken, "Oh, um. Yes, no that would be nice." She answered with a light smile once her brain had registered. She picked up her drink and moved to the bar, taking the seat next to him. She though it best to join the man at the bar rather than have him join her at her table. Jess was trusting but she wasn't an idiot (though some people took her as one), the man was a stranger and she thought it would be better to sit with him at the bar where it would be easier to get up and leave if she felt she needed to, rather that risk get stuck at a table with him, plus at the bar the bartender would be within earshot just in case of anything. "Hi, I'm Jessica." She said putting out her hand to shake his as she climbed onto the high stool, holding her drink in her other hand. "It's very nice to meet you." Yes, she had barely said a word to the man but she was genuinely pleased to meat him. Jess was a happy and outgoing small town girl and she loved to meet new people and get along with them, even if it was just for one afternoon or one short conversation while waiting in a line. "It's fun to meet new people. Unless of course they're mean...But you seem nice though. It was nice of you to invite me to join you. Thank you." She said, almost talking a mile a minute. "Sorry, I do that sometimes." She said with a bright but sheepish smile, "I'm just psyched because I've actually been out. I work for the Army and haven't had a chance to get out much lately." She explained. "So what do you do?" She asked in return, before taking a dainty sip of her drink and then resting it on the counter. Tag: Remington Monroe .

And apparently, Remy had startled the woman, a fact evidenced by the fact that she started stammering a bit before saying that joining him would be nice and walked over to him, sitting down next to him, introducing herself as Jessica and saying it was nice to meet him. "Likewise. I'm Remington," he responded. Wonder what brings her here, he mused to himself. Not that this was any of his business. No, he was better off keeping silent on that front.
He then grinned as Jessica thanked him, stating that it was nice to meet new people unless they were mean, saying that he seemed nice and that it was nice of him to invite her to sit with him before apologizing and telling him that she was just excited because she was actually out and about, explaining that she worked for the Army and hadn't had a chance to get out much. "Quite all right," he assured. "What do you do there?" he wondered. She doesn't have the military bearing, so she's not an officer or anything, he thought. Not that he knew all that much about the military, mind you.
At her question, he grinned. "Currently unemployed. I moved here with my girlfriend when she got a job transfer and to be honest, the job hunt hasn't been going too well for me," he replied. And it was the truth. Sort of. The pickings for a bank job weren't very good here, hence him jumping at the chance to run guns, even though it wasn't his usual thing.

"Remington." She said with a light smile and a slight nod. When she met new people she liked to verbalize their name right away so that she would have less chance of forgetting it. "Oh, I'm a mechanic." She answered when he asked her what she did. Though looking at her that usually wasn't most peoples first guess . A lot of people tended to think that she was too cutsie, too petite and too girly to be in that line of work and thought she was joking, until they looked in her face and realized she was serious, "I fix all kinds of vehicles for the military." "Aww, it can be tough to find a job nowadays." Jess sympathized. "You could always join the army!" She said half joking but also half serious, "There are all kind of job opportunities in the military." She offered, not wanting to stick her nose in too much, "What does your girlfriend do?" She asked, before taking a little sip of her drink. "You two must be serious if you moved to be with her." She said, being her chatty self. Tag: Remington Monroe.

Remy smiled as the woman repeated his name as if trying to commit it to memory. Guess she's one of those people who have trouble remembering names, he thought to himself. Then again, it wasn't like he was using a common name these days. After all, how many people had the name Remington? Not many. So yeah, he could understand her needing to commit the name to memory. He just hoped that it stuck. Not that he would really mind if she had trouble with his name. After all, the normal person that he was trying to be wouldn't care about that sort of thing. It still didn't make it a bit difficult to do sometimes.
His smile grew and he nodded as she said that she was a mechanic, which meant that she fixed the vehicles for the military. "That's pretty cool," he commented. So she works with vets, huh? he mused. Anyone who helped out vets was okay in his book. And yes, he respected veterans. Call it part of his code, or whatever the hell you wanted. You just decided to rest with veteran. I thought it was pretty cool.
He then nodded in agreement as she said that it could be tough finding a job these days, suggesting that he could always join the Army. "I thought of that, but unfortunately, I've got some...indiscretions that would disqualify me," he responded. Like the fact that I pull bank jobs, he thought to himself. However, he wasn't about to say that out loud. At her question of what Sandra did, he smiled. "She collects art and we go where the opportunity goes," he responded.
When she noted that their relationship must be getting pretty serious if he was willing to move to Tierney to be with her, he nodded, smiling a bit. "Yeah, we met when I was younger and we just hit it off. As for moving, it was time. I just needed a change of scenery and this seemed like a pretty cool place,” he assured.

"Yeah, I love it." She replied with a smile when he said her job was cool, "It comes with it's challenges but it's rewording work." she added, "I'm glade to be able to serve my country with a spanner rather than with a rifle." She confessed with a light grin. Jess wasn't the type for armed combat and she didn't like touching guns if she could get away with it. "Oh." She said gently, pursing her lips when he said he had some indiscretions that prevented him signing up. She didn't pass any judgments, everyone made mistakes and she believed in second chances, but on the other hand she wasn't silly and she made a mental note not to let him walk her to her taxi alone or anything like that, "Well, I'm sure you'll find something." She offered optimistically. "Oh that's interesting." She replied when he told her his girlfriend dealt with art, "I didn't realize there were any art opportunities in a little place like this one." She said interestedly. "It must be fun traveling all over the place." She mused, "That's one of the things I like about the army, I get to travel and see new places but then I get to come back home at the end of it.""So have you been to a lot of interesting places?" She ask. She loved to hear other peoples stories and found it so interesting to hear about the places they had been and the things they had seen. "Do you think you'll be here in Tierney for long?" She asked casually, then took another sip of her drink. Tag: Remington Monroe.

Remy smiled as the woman stated that she loved her job, saying that it came with its own challenges but that it was rewarding work and that she was glad to serve her country the way she did instead of with a rifle. "Serving is serving," he responded. "Get her whatever she wants, on me," he said to the bartender. Yeah, she'd probably object to it, but it was the least that he could do for her.
The smile grew as she said that she was sure that he'd find something. "Thanks," he responded. "That's uh...sort of why I'm here. My girlfriend doesn't think the job offer I just got is good. She's afraid I'll fall into old habits," he stated. Well, that was sort of the truth. He did get a little nuts when he was running drugs. It was the adrenaline. It just did something to him. "Just wish she'd trust me a bit more," he confessed. And that wasn't even a lie. He did wish Sandra would trust his judgment about this.
He then nodded as she commented that she hadn't realized that Tierney had any art opportunities, adding that it must've been fun traveling all over, saying the chance to see new places and then also go home was one of the things that she liked about the Army. "Yeah?" he asked. "So, what drew you to mechanics? And no, I don't mean because you're a girl. I'm genuinely curious." And he was. In this day and age, mechanics seemed to be few and far between. Well, the old school kind, that he was thinking of anyway.
At her question of whether or not they'd be in town for long, he shrugged. "I don't know. I'm hoping so though," he responded. To be perfectly honest, he liked it here and he could see him and Sandra settling down if it was what she wanted.

Jess just looked up at the taller man from her seat and smiled sweetly at him when he said that serving was serving. She had not delusions that she was some kind of hero in anyway, but she was proud to be doing her part and serving her country. "Aww, that's so sweet. You really don't have to." She said genuinely grateful and flattered by the drink offer. Not everyone she had met had the same sentiment towards active servicemen, theorizing that supporting soldiers was supporting war. She had run into a few of those and though most of them just had a different view point to her, a couple had been just plain mean and Jess didn't like mean people. But seeing the genuine look on his face she didn't want to offend him by turning down his kind offer, "I'll have another one of these please." She said handing the bar tender her now empty Cosmo glass, "Thank you." She said Looking back to Remington. "Aww." Jess said sympathetically when he told her his girlfriend didn't think his job offer was any good, "Well, I'm sure you two will be able to talk it out, find some middle ground." She offered. Jess was the very optimistic type, almost naively so sometimes, but it was usually endearing. "I don't think any job is a bad job myself. If you're the President or a janitor what you do matters and you should be able to take pride in your work." She said sharing her idealistic outlook. But of course in her innocence she was thinking about legitimate employment and the though of any unlawful jobs didn't even enter her mind. "I don't know, I've just always been really good at it. I used to fix up old cars with my dad when I was younger and I loved it." She began when he asked how she got into mechanics. And she smiled when he said he hadn't asked just because she was a girl. She got that all the time, not that she let it upset her, but it was nice that someone was asking just because they were asking. "And it just came naturally to me in school." She shrugged. " I don't know it's just a gift I have I suppose. It's like machines say what's wrong with them and I'm one of the people who can hear them." She smiled. Then she realized how that could sound and hoped the mad didn't think she was crazy. "After school I got a job in an auto shop. Great job, Ray is so nice. But then I wanted to put my skills to good use for our country, so I joined the army like my dad.""Well Tierney is a great place to settle." She replied when he said he hoped to stay. "I've lived her since I was a teenager and I have no ambitions to ever leave this place." No Jess was a small town girl and she could see herself staying and raising her own family here one day, "The people are so nice here and theres just such a great sense of community." She said warmly, her love for the place clearly evident on her face and in her voice as she talked, "And it would be a great place for you and your lady to settle down and start a family one day, if you ever get that serious." She winked, touching him in the shoulder playfully. Yeah, the drinks were definitely starting to loosen up the already friendly and optimistic woman. Tag: Remington Monroe.

Remy smiled as the woman said that his offer to pay for her drink was sweet and that he didn't have to. "It's no biggie," he reassured. Least I could do, he thought to himself. Yes, this was something that he had gotten from Brock: respecting those in the service, no matter what they did. If there was nothing else that he learned from him, it was that. His smile then grew as she ordered another one of her drinks, which he saw was a Cosmopolitan before thanking him again. "Like I said, no biggie," he responded.
He then nodded as she said that she was sure he and Mikael would be able to talk things out and find a middle ground, adding that she didn't any job was bad, no matter if you were the President or a janitor, that what people did mattered, and a person should take pride in their work. "Yeah, I hear ya," he stated. And I do take pride in my work, he thought to himself. He just didn't understand why Sandra was so dead set against this.
He listened as she admitted that she had just always been good with things, saying that she used to fix old cars with her dad, which she had loved, adding that it had come naturally to her in school, adding that it was like a gift, saying that the machines would say what was wrong with them and that she was one of the few people who could hear them. "That's pretty cool," he commented, his smile growing when she explained that she had gotten a job in an auto shop after school, which had been nice, but that she wanted to put her skills to use for her country, so she had joined the Army like her dad had. "It sounds nice," he said softly. Wish I had had that, he thought to himself. However, his old man had been an abusive bastard and he could rot in Hell for all he cared.
His smell then grew and he nodded as she told him that Tierney was a great place to settle, explaining that she had lived in town since she was a teen and didn't have any desire to leave, saying that the people were really nice and it had a great sense of community, adding that it'd be a great place for him and Mikael to settle down and start a family one day if they were that serious. "Good to know," he stated. And it was. He just wasn't sure if he'd ever want to start a family. After all, the only thing he knew about being a father was beating someone and he wasn't ever going to risk him turning into his old man.

"So where did you move here from anyway?" she asked casually. "I'm originally from Mississippi, but we moved around a couple of times before settling here." She told him. Not that he had asked, she was just the friendly and chatty type for the most part, and the drink only encouraged that. Then her phone buzzed and she pulled it out, seeing who the message was from, "Sorry, one of my friends." She said, before sending the worlds quickest reply and putting the phone face down on the bar. Jess was always the popular type and had always had a close circle of friends and she was used to having her phone buzzing all the time. And it also served to keep her safe because someone knew where she was all of the time, even if that someone was usually her daddy. After all he knew how trusting his little girl could be and how she liked to look for the best in people so he had to keep an eye on her, because left to her own devices she might end up sitting in a bar having a drink with some kind of criminal who was planning to do some gun running or something, who knows? And as if his radar went off Jess' phone buzzed again, this time with a message from her father, she answered him back saying her friend had to bail but that she was staying for a drink and that she would get a cab when she had finished so that she would get home safe, "My Dad." She said to Remington as she looked at the screen and typed with her thumbs, "He's just seeing how things are going. And making sure I'm not having too much fun." She joked with a smile as she put the phone back down. Tag: Remington Monroe.

When the woman asked Remy where he was from, saying that she was originally from Mississippi but that she had moved around a couple of times before coming to Tierney, he shrugged. "I think we were in....Virginia....last. Yeah, that sounds right. We...travel a lot for Sandy's work, so it all tends to blend together after a while," he stated, giving another shrug.
He was about to say more when her phone buzzed. He then chuckled as she apologized, saying that it was one of her friends. he assured. "If you were supposed to meet someone, you don't have to stick around to keep me company," he told her. Not like he'd be the best of company at the moment anyways. That being said, he was enjoying their talk. He just didn't want to keep her from something that she needed to do.
His eyes then flickered as she answered her phone again, explaining that it was her dad who was seeing how things were going and making sure she wasn't having too much fun. "Hey, at least he cares about you," he responded. His old man hadn't given a damn about him. Hell, he had tried to kill him. And he probably would've succeeded if it hadn't been for his mother. He missed her sometimes. Okay, he couldn't go there. He was here to forget the fight he had with Sandra, not reminisce about his crappy childhood.

Jess nodded when he said they had moved from Virginia and she chuckled when thought about it and told her that sounded about right, "Yeah, I know how it can get moving around a lot. Thankfully I haven't been shipped out anywhere for a while and have been fixing things up around here, but I'm sure they'll send me out sometime soon. I can feel it in my bones." She said with another smile before taking a sip of the drink he had bought her. "Oh no, I'm not meeting anyone. She was just saying hi, asking what I'm up to. I told her I'm out having a nice time." She explained when he told her she didn't need to stick around. "I'm enjoying your company, I just hope I'm not talking your ear off too much." She added. "Oh yeah, he really does." She replied sincerely, "He always takes care of me, he's a really good dad." She added with an affectionate tone. "What about you? Do you or your family have any girlfriend near by?" She asked, the drinks obviously starting to kick in and go to her head a little, "I mean do you or your girlfriend have family anywhere near by?" She squinted for a moment as she thought, "Did I already ask you that before?"Tag: Remington Monroe.

Remy nodded as the woman said that she understood how it could moving around a lot, saying that hopefully she hadn't been shipped out anywhere in a while which had given her a chance to fix things at her place and that she had a feeling that she would get shipped out soon, saying that she could feel it in her bones "Well when it happens, I'm sure you'll be ready to rock and roll and be bad ass," he responded. "I mean, come on. You keep their stuff going and in working order. That's pretty damn important," he continued. And it was. They had to be ready to get the hell out of dodge at times and they wouldn't be able to do that if their vehicles weren't working. Well, at least that was the way he was seeing it. He didn't really know to be honest.
He then smiled as she assured him that she wasn't meeting anyone and that her friend was just saying hi and was wondering what she was up to, telling him that she had told her friend that she was out having a nice time, saying that she was enjoying his company and that she hoped that she wasn't talking his ear off too much. "Not at all. I'm enjoying your company too," he assured her. And it was the truth. He was enjoying her company.
The smile grew as she went on talking about her dad, saying that he did care about her, he always took care of her, and that he was a good dad. "That's really cool," he commented. When she asked him if he or Sandra had family close by, wondering if she had already asked him that, he shook his head. "No you didn't ask that before and no we don't," he responded.
