Jamie was all too familiar with standing at the airport waiting on someone to come home. Her father and brother had made sure to set the precedent. Rarely was she used to waiting on Eric to come home. Sure his work would take him out of town from time to time but never like this for months on end. There had been a missing navy lieutenant involved, it had been all over the Tierney news. She waddled over to the gate, it was one of the few places that family could meet people at the gates in this day and age. Mostly bc it was such a small town and everyone knew who was flying in. Unfamiliar faces were easily recognizable.
Jamison searched the runway. It was large for a small town, but it had to get cargo planes off the ground. Jamie was pacing back and forth, usually that was her thinking go to, but in this case there was no furniture to rearrange and she was anxious. Dylan and Mason had a hard time getting their mom to stay still, and both had given up trying to curb her anxiety. They’d also had a whale of a time over the last few months keeping their mom from climbing the walls so to speak.
Dylan grabbed his mom as she passed by this time. “Mom. Stop moving. Go sit.” He sounded more like his dad some days. Like father like son. Jamie sighed as Mason gave her the exact same look as her oldest. She could only fight so many of them off. Boys were impossible to deal with some days. Learning from Eric that was their issue.
