Shooting Range, Off Base. She missed. She never missed, but yesterday she had missed. Lara was a world class sniper so missing with a hand gun at 21 feet away wasn't acceptable. And letting her peers know she had gotten a little rusty with her close range shooting wasn't an appealing option to her. No she needed to practice, it had been months since she had been deployed and she had focused too much on her long range rifle shooting while she was grounded, that was all. She had been a little distracted lately which hadn't helped, and it wasn't like she hadn't hit the target. But she had been out enough yesterday for it to matter, so today she was hitting the range in her down time...but not the one on base. No she decided to drive to a range off base so she could brush up on her skills without all of her team mates and commanding officers walking about and looking over her shoulder taking notes. Plus here she didn't have to wear any kind of uniform, here she didn't have to be a solder. She could just dress down in a T-shirt and a pair of jeans and brush up on her skills at her own leisure to get herself back to 110%. Once she had gotten the formalities out of the was she was given her firearm and was pointed at her target. She took a moment to put on her ear and eye guards before she raided her gun to the target. She took her time lining up her shot and fired off a few rounds. Tag: Gy Sgt. Julien Foxwell.

Sparring sessions always took a toll upon his body; though he did his utmost best not to show it as he rolled out of bed this morning, grimacing as his left hand went to cradle his right side. It was not as bad as some of the times where both brothers would get a little out of hand, knowing that he still needed to be fit for duty; a couple days and a heavy-duty ice pack would hopefully do the trick. Sparring was just as important as the need to hone and practice in on his long range shooting as a sniper, practicing for that 9/10 chance that he would be caught off-guard and a sniper rifle was no longer an effective weapon.
"You sure you're alright to go to the range today?"
He knew his mother's concerned tone when he heard her appear in the corridor, his hand had just twisted the handle - wanting nothing more than to leave the household without disturbing anyone but perhaps his mother had him on radar.
"I'm fine, honestly, mum." Julien said, keeping his own voice soft as he turned around to hug her. "Didn't want to disturb the house, but it seems you were awake already."
"Love you, Jules."
"I'll be back in time for the famous spaghetti special. Love you, mum." Julien offered her a smile, parting from the hug and proceeding to walk down to the range off-base. He was dressed casually, a pair of cream khakis and a dark blue sports shirt as he made his way over. It was a range he frequented more times than he had done the range at JTF - it had more of a relaxed atmosphere but enough so that he was not bothered by the hussle and bustle of soldiers that needed his attention.
Though, he was always on-call for MARSOC and anyone else who had his number on speed dial, would know that he would be there in a flash.
Having sorted out a few formalities with the guns, Julien made his way into the next booth along, setting everything up - focusing on his left-handed pistol shooting, putting on his ear protection and ballistic safety glasses.
Lining up his shot, Julien fired off three rounds before a short break and then another burst of three rounds before repeating the cycle until the 15 rounds had been cleared from the magazine.

Lara didn't allow herself to be distracted by the shooting that began coming from the next booth, she just kept her focus on her target and continued to fire one pull of the trigger at a time until her clip was empty. Once the last bullet case from that clip hit the ground she safetied her weapon and put it down. She removed her ear guards and reeled in her used target, turning to get a fresh one she noticed Julien in the booth next to her. "Hello." She said with a light, friendly smile. Typical she would go out of her way to another range only to bump into someone from the base. But if she was gonna bump into anyone from base she didn't mind that it was Julien. He had been great with her during their kill house training and she felt fairly comfortable around him, though to be fair he was a guy and she felt more comfortable around most guys than she did around most women. Unless of course she was around a guy she liked, then she was just awkward in all kinds of ways. Not that that had been a problem for her for a while now, she hadn't been in any kind of relationship of a few years. But that was a whole other story. "I guess we both got the same idea, huh?" She commented with a smile. Tag: Gy Sgt. Julien Foxwell.

Julien had been wheeling in his target - his eyes narrowing behind his glasses as he watched the bullet-holes become apparent. He glanced to his side as he watched another person in a booth fire off a couple of shots, wanting to correct the man's posture but had gone against it when his attention had been grabbed by a voice.
His attention had turned to be greeted with a familiar face. Julien pushed off his ear protection, allowing it to wrap around the back of his neck. It was Lara DunCroft, a fellow sniper that he had trained with in the kill house. She had impressed him with the clearances that she had made. Julien gave her a warm smile.
"Hello, DunCroft."
It was certainly nice that they had bumped into one another, even if he had gone there to blow off some steam and practice without judgement.
"I guess we both got the same idea, huh?"
"You know what they say, great minds think alike. Good to see you, Lara. How you been?" Julien had halted his target practice, quickly eying up the job he had done on the target; the man wouldn't be leaving without a chest - certainly.

Lara smiled at his great minds comment. It was a joke no doubt, but still it was nice her superior didn't think she was half-witted. "I'm fine, thanks. It's good to see you too. Haven't really seen you much since the Kill House, how have you been keeping?" She had seen him around here and there a but there hadn't been a whole lot of interaction involved. More like a just a smile or nod in passing. Seeing his handiwork she motioned towards his target with a nod, "I see you haven't lost your touch. Nice work." She complemented, one professional to another. "If you're that good with a hand gun I'd like to see what you can do with a rifle on a sniper range." She said with a light smile. Julien's skills and professionalism were impressive. And it was always nice to have a fellow sniper around. Snippers were their own breed really and even if he did out rank her it was nice having another one around who she could hone her skills with from time to time. Tag: Gy Sgt. Julien Foxwell.
