Jackie defined woman at the best of times. High maintenance was a thing with her. She'd gotten permission from Cameron to go out and have a girl's day before he'd left overseas. Of course that meant spending money. Jackie was definitely a woman who could spend a lot of money in any given day. Though she had always made sure to clear anything she was going to do or buy with Cameron before she did it. The answer wasn't always one she liked, but today was one of those times she had gotten away with being able to take Lacy to go get her nails done. Jackie enjoyed spending time with Lacy. When the two weren't arguing over one thing or another. The typical mother/daughter fights with Lacy were more frequent than they had been with Madison. It wasn't that Jackie had treated either of them any different than the other, Lacy was just a lot like Jackie in her feisty spirit. Cameron had his hands full on a good day. There was a lot on Jackie's mind lately. Cameron was overseas, training. That didn't keep Jackie from worrying every second he was gone. Madison was also deployed. It gave her a bit of a peace of mind to know that Cameron was close by Madison, but worry always continued to spill out. Cam Jr. was with Jamie, her sister was enjoying spending time with the six year old. Though Jackie saw it as anyway to keep her sister busy in recent months. With a brother in law who had never come home from Korea, a son who had been killed in action, and her sister having been injured in the line of duty so many years ago; Jackie was at her breaking point. Cameron had left the military and now he was right back to being deployed all the time. Jackie tapped her nails on the counter. Was it so wrong to just want her family back together in one piece and to stay in one place? Tag: Lacy Pierce

A girl's day, well maybe more like one and a half girls out of the day Lace thought as she wanted to spend time with her mother. Beyond her there was only Cameron at home and sure for conversation it was a little lacking given he was under the age of ten and well there was only so much she could do with him. Lacy was glad for the day alone with her mother as it gave her the perfect chance to actually talk to her without the distractions of a brother crying or the general goings on in the house. Getting her nails done it was nice just to have a time of peace and quiet in the house rather than the arguing that was normal for her and her mother. How Madison had not fought as much was beyond her but Lacy seemed to do nothing but at times. Maybe they were just too alike for their own good though given her father was overseas Lace couldn’t even go to him to beg and plead for what she wanted to do. It was always a worry when her dad was away, especially after her brother had passed and now Madison was out there too. Nope every call or knock at the door and her heart would sink but today they were out. Even her uncle had disappeared though at least Jamieson still had hope if nothing else, sure it looked dire but there were stranger things right. Lacy looked toward her mum when she tapped her nails on the counter. Lacy was attempting a peaceful day out and sure her nails were going to be some outlandish watermelon colour or something like that. "What colour are you getting your nails?" She asked more out of curiosity to see what her style was going to be for the next few days. Nothing plain and simple but if she tried to be a little more high maintenance then maybe things would go her way a little better. “Mum, is everything okay?” Lacy asked her figuring the answer was no but then she seemed to be in her own head which meant trouble. “Anything I can do?” She asked not sure if it was because her mum wanted to go home or just the general state of the family so far. A brother lost, a father overseas along with her sister and she was left with the one person she argued with. More than anyone else and her brother who was six and likely had no clue what was going on. Tag: Dr. Jacqueline Pierce

Jackie stressed while family was deployed, it was not uncommon at all. This time the lack of communication was getting to her. Usually they checked in more than this. It bugged her in the back of her head. Though she also knew there were times when they couldn’t call out and it usually meant things were more dangerous or more top secret or something and Jackie never liked to think like that but it was true. She was just glad that Lacy had seemed to chill out a bit today. Maybe it was just the fact that right now all they had was each other. Either that or Lacy wanted something bad enough to be not barking down her throat about every parental made decision? Jackie knew how her children worked, but right now she was hoping it was the former since the others were working overseas. Jackie came out of her plotting like trance when she heard her daughter talking to her. “I don’t know yet. What about you?” Sometimes Jackie didn’t make up her mind until the last minute. Not making up her mind, usually meant that something was bothering her. Jackie was ordinarily a rather decisive person when she got something in her head. To the point she was sure it drove the others crazy. “Of course sweetie.” Jackie smiled. It wasn’t any one thing that had her lost in her head. The same answer of worrying about her family would be a moot point. She knew Lacy already knew how things were. Did she tell Lacy that she hadn’t heard from Cameron and Madison? No, there were just some things that talking to Lacy about wouldn’t help. There was no need to worry her daughter. Tag: Lacy Pierce

Lacy was used to her mother’s stress when family was away, it was their family normal. Others had happy laughter and her family they had stress, it was what they did. Rightly so too given that Dustin was gone, taken from them and Lacy still hadn’t forgiven anyone for that. It had shaken her though she kept that same face on she did for everything that upset her. The military didn’t exactly allow for a lot of contact and she was used to her dad being away, it was how it had been for years but Madison. No that wasnt normal at all for her. She had tried to be chilled about everything but family worried her and Lacy wanted to go off and do her own thing. She knew how the argument had gone before but now Madison had done it, maybe it was her shot at a life in the military too. Catch her mum on a good day and she was hoping the answer would be yes, once she had that yes it would all be done in weeks she hoped. She just needed that yes from her mum so she could go and do what she wanted to do. “Last minute again?” Lacy asked grinning at her mum, “I’m going to get water melons on mine, bright colours and all.” Lacy was used to her mum being indecisive at times which didnt often gel with the decisive nature she had though once she had a choice made. It was tough to change her mind and her mother drove people crazy. Her included most of the time which made it tough when her dad was away and now Madison it was like the crazy train stopped with her. “Okay, don’t sweetie me mum.” Lacy said doing her best stare, “Spill it, what do you know that you’re not telling me and don’t go all parent on me either. Seventeen is old enough to know things in life. So tell me or I'll have them do your nails in an acid green colour which I'm pretty sure doesn't go with any outfit.” Lacy stated, the one thing she did know it was her parents, the faces, the looks, the voices. There was something eating at her mum and Lacy wasn’t about to give up on finding out what. Her mother was stubborn and it was trait passed onto her. If she was old enough to lose a brother she was old enough to know a lot though maybe stating all the things she could do at seventeen wasnt a great idea. She didnt want to be locked in the basement for life. Tag: Dr. Jacqueline Pierce
