Grace Cole had just left the viewing room and Izzy knew her from being neighbors with the Cole's what Grace was going through tore at Isabella. Izzy knew what had happened, she'd read the case files and even the cop had been. This was a dangerous case and Isabella knew it was but that didn't mean it wasn't still her job to put these guys away. The guy was a Marine, that made it Isabella's problem. Grace had pointed the guy out of a line up but the other woman (the cop) was refusing to testify. Isabella had her hands full. Moving out of the room she was accompanied by two police officers. That was pretty customary around Tierney. Not that Isabella couldn't take care of herself. Her dress blues caught her attention in the mirror. There were tear stains from where Grace had cried once she'd saw the face of the man who had covered her in gas. It was a complicated situation and one that Isabella was going to have a whale of a time trying to tie up in court. She knew that Erin had tried to insert herself into the case once or twice. It made a lot of things flimsy. Isabella turned and kept walking. She still had a lot of paperwork to do. Tag: Lt. Victor Gauthier

Victor had to have double-taken when Grace had told him what his wife was embarking on. The latest case; a serial killing Marine. He had taken his time to process it, and even now, he did not think that he had processed it fully. A flurry of emotions had been his initial reaction; from anger of the fact that the killer was screwing over the name of the Corps to the deep-set worry of his wife having to be in close proximity of this maniac. Victor was not even going to go the route of calling the disgrace a marine. He had hopped into his car and arrived at the police department on base, this harked back to one of Izzy's last cases, where she had been shot in court. Vic did not want another case of something happening to his wife, even though she was fully capable of defending herself. Rolling up to the sidewalk, he saw his wife coming out of the station. Vic quickly scrambled to get out, to cut her off. "Isabella!" He said, a couple of feet away from her. Tag: Maj. Isabella Gauthier

If it was one thing that she hated it was her husband's voice using her full name. "Yes Lieutenant?" If she called him by rank outside of uniform, she was most certainly annoyed with him. She shifted her briefcase onto her other shoulder with a look that suggested he had better start explain himself. For one, she was already stressed out to be landing her current case. It wasn't going to be an easy road. The last thing she needed was him barking up some crazy tree. Her phone started ringing but she didn't like to be rude, so she sent it to voice mail. It was clear that she was on the run and in the middle of a very busy day. One that painted her usual day to day running around. Something she knew understood well. She was just glad that someone wasn't calling her from inside the building or anything else. "Just spit it the hell out Marine."Tag: Lt. Victor Gauthier

"Yes Lieutenant?"He should have expected that one. He really should have. Victor knew that was a sure-fire indication that Izzy was annoyed. Though, the annoyance ran both ways. He knew his wife was doing her job, that she was going after the 'bad guy' but he had a right to know and not receive it second-hand from their neighbours. Judging by how she held herself combined with the annoyance that was only very thinly-veiled, Victor knew that she was meant to be places. "Just spit it the hell out Marine."His jaw tightened, his brain whirring and kicking him back several years before he had even considered leaving the Corps. His back straightened a little, his eyes locked onto Izzy's. "Grace told me about your latest case. What the hell are you thinking going after this lunatic?" It was clear that though he had come across blunt and brash, that he deeply cared about the safety of his wife, even more so because of the defining incident that had happened to her in court. Meant to be places and actually going places were two totally separate entities when practically being held hostage by your own husband. Even though Victor had left the marines and was in the Coast Guard now, Izzy knew that marines were always marines. Though she should have known that was going to make him a bit more definite in what he was going to say. Well at least it would make him spit things out? “I go after a lot of lunatics. The guy who was drugging women and leaving them in dumpsters half dressed missing half their heads. There was also the lunatic serial killer last year that had killed 15 or 16 kids." She picked her finger up and held it up to her lips like she was thinking. "I think you warned me not to go after both of them. I’m still here. I think I’ll take my chances with this lunatic.” She stepped towards him and set the finger on his lips almost daring him to say anything else. Izzy wasn’t afraid of Victor she never had been. “But maybe while you’re here you could join me for lunch?” It wasn’t really a peace offering. It was more of she wasn’t holding a grudge on him at the moment and maybe she could distract him so she didn’t have to discuss her current case. Not that she could mention anything more than the papers already had in this case. “Let’s start this over again. How about good afternoon honey how are you?” She was still expressing annoyance at the way he’d just gone straight to her first name. Tag: Lt. Victor Gauthier

Arguing with his wife never, ever ended well. It was not a physical altercation nor the words that had been thrown around but it would be the intensity she would hit him with. In all his young life, Victor had always been the 'finger on the trigger' type of man and never great with his use of words when a discussion took the turn for the intense. He was glad that though he had been to the corners of the world, seen the darkness of humanity - that he had the stomach to stomach the details that were being fast-bowled at him. He listened with a careful ear as she went on about taking her chances, and waiting for his opportunity to speak. Victor was just about to open his mouth when he felt his wife's finger press against his lips, ultimately challenging him to speak. Victor held her gaze, not withering away from it but it seemed that way for any words that had wanted to be said. If he challenged her on it, he would end up getting an earful in front of everyone. She was the only woman he knew that could boss him around proper. Victor had chosen the option to remain silent, though it was clear from his own posture that they still had unfinished business that they needed to air. Izzy was a strong woman, there was no arguing that; she had held up the backbone of the family whilst he had been doing the last few deployments and among other things, raising the children. "But maybe while you’re here you could join me for lunch?”Victor let out a silent breath, running a free hand through his hair, partially making a note on the fact to get his hair cut as he physically softened slightly. From the way she had said it certainly sounded like a peace offering but he knew something lay underneath the offer. He checked his watch quickly. "Sounds good. You got time to get a bite to eat?"“Let’s start this over again. How about good afternoon honey how are you?”He took a beat, a soft smile on his face, at least attempting to hold off on the barrage of questions he wanted to ask his wife. "Afternoon, Izzy. How's everything? Where you suggesting we go?"Tag:: Maj. Isabella Gauthier

When Victor went silent, Isabella knew better to count their chickens before they hatched. If she hadn’t been in uniform she’d have rewarded his silence with a kiss but there were certain rules that forbid such things. She withdrew her finger from his lips and took a step back. The look in his eyes told her everything that she needed to know. He wasn’t done with the conversation. No, but she had more argument than the one she’d just given. In the end, he wouldn’t get her to drop the case, it wasn’t like she assigned herself cases. “I’ve always got time for you.” Given that it was that or paperwork… she could handle lunch over paperwork any day of the week. She’d probably fall asleep on another law book or draped across the couch with her laptop half on the floor again. It’s what she did and it was starting to routinely become a habit when she would bring her work home with her. “Something that doesn’t reek of chinese szechuan sauce. Other than that anything else is on the table.” She decided to answer his food question first as she shifted her briefcase again. “It’s been a rough morning, but nothing I can’t handle.” She was at least being honest in the question. It was this morning that this case had been dropped in her inbox. It was this morning that the MP had told her she needed to come in and that the victim was coming in to identify the man. Seeing that the woman involved in the case had been Grace hadn’t made the rest of the morning easy at all. Izzy still wanted to find this cop and talk some sense into the woman, but that was also for later. Tag: Lt. Victor Gauthier

There was not a moment in his silence that he did not want to say something. Victor could not see the outcomes as such situations dictated, but this was his wife - he did have a right to be worried about her. After all, even with his persistent and often repetitive lines about dropping the case; it would always be that Izzy would have her way. He might not understand the reasoning behind some of them, but in the end, he needed to be there to support her. A small smile worked up at the corners of his mouth as she replied to whether or not she was pressed for time in the case. “Something that doesn’t reek of chinese szechuan sauce. Other than that anything else is on the table.”Victor tried to map all the food joints that were around Tierney and close by that they could go have a meal. He was itching for Indian, though he was just as happy having anything else. He grinned at the fact that she went against something reeking against Szechuan sauce - something of a guilty pleasure when he needed to work late shifts and had finished much later in the day. "Itching for some Indian cuisine but if you're wanting something else, we can go there instead. I'm not too fussed."He nodded at the second part of her reply before his eyes slowly glanced down at the briefcase. "Izzy, would you like me to carry that for a while?"Tag:: Maj. Isabella Gauthier

Izzy could tell the whole conversation about her case wasn’t over. She’d let him have a small victory, she dropped her shoulder to let her bag roll down her shoulder towards him. “Indian food sounds amazing.” She decided to poke the proverbial elephant as she fell into step with her husband. “You came running into the precinct rather quickly.” Isabella jumped to quick conclusions. “Do you trust me?” It was a rhetorical question. She already knew the answer to that. Though she was trying to start a conversation, though her lawyer like conversations were usually very meticulous and thought out. This one was just as such, there was ever hardly a conversation of hers that wasn’t They needed to discuss this though, or the proverbial elephant would be in the way. Too many elephants could destroy a marriage. Izzy preferred to talk them over as they came. It made things easier than hiding them or pretending they didn’t exist. Tag: Lt. Victor Gauthier
