Osan Airbase, South Korea 0700 Local Time Briefing Room Stephanie hadn't slept. Jump rides were sure to keep her awake. They did everytime. Not only that but the moment they had landed every intelligence flag had gone off. That was honestly nerve racking. Now she was having to brief them. She was not a people person and totally wanted to shove this off on James, but she was the one with the intel. Before she started rambling she made sure to count heads. They had already walked into a FUBAR situation and it wasn't looking to get any better soon. "Before we landed last night the base forty seven click (km) north of here was seized. I've got sources saying the Jeoggun are setting up not far from there. Which means as of 1235 yesterday we were under code red." It was nice of them to be informed of that when they had landed. Not. The stuff they knew and the stuff they should know. "The base commander has asked that we take up a security shift on the flight line. Ruzek and Halstead. Chopper security duty." Oh they got to stand around and do nothing all day except do security check points. Then again it wasn't really doing nothing when a base was on high security alert. "Nunn and Carver, I just got orders. We have a downed bird 30 clicks west of here. It never made it to the supply docks. It's a medical supply crate coming in. Nunn take a team with you and get a move on now." Oh their clock was already ticking and Stephanie had half a mind to kick them down the hall ten minutes ago. Well not literally ten minutes ago. But that is how long the intelligence took to come down. Things were slow around here. She was going to have to fix that. "Wilson and myself are with Captain Reagan. We need to double down on tactical and technical security. Wilson see if you can find me the mechanical specs of the base security system." She shoved her papers down on the desk. "Any questions? and if Carver and Nunn aren't out of my sight" well she wasn't sure if they were there or not but that was Steph. They had been warned twice already. Tagged: reagan, Sgt. Despite the intensity of the situation, James had remained calm, even during the jump ride, even during the chaos once they landed - he was the leader and the leader had to have a level head right?. The kids were thankfully old enough to take care of themselves for a few days, but James had ensured someone would be keeping an eye out just in case, so it left James and Steph able to head out on this mission that they'd been poorly informed about "Before we landed last night the base forty seven click (km) north of here was seized. I've got sources saying the Jeoggun are setting up not far from there. Which means as of 1235 yesterday we were under code red." James normally would take briefings, but as Steph had the intel he'd let her take lead, but he still stood beside her as he eyed the team in front of them, taking in everything he could. "The base commander has asked that we take up a security shift on the flight line. Ruzek and Halstead. Chopper security duty."
James had to admit, he was glad Steph was with them - she was good, good at keeping a level head when it was needed, when it came down to it, and she was a capable leader and he knew it.
"Nunn and Carver, I just got orders. We have a downed bird 30 clicks west of here. It never made it to the supply docks. It's a medical supply crate coming in. Nunn take a team with you and get a move on now."
"Wilson and myself are with Captain Reagan. We need to double down on tactical and technical security. Wilson see if you can find me the mechanical specs of the base security system."
"Any questions? and if Carver and Nunn aren't out of my sight" James looked sideways at her, at least she'd got all that out "Lets move it!" he said looking back at the team "Time is of essence" he added.
He looked over at who he knew was Wilson "Wilson" he added indicating him to join himself and Steph. Tagged: Sgt. Jay Halstead @adamruzek @chloenunn @noel Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson Col. Stephanie Huntley

Osan Airbase, South Korea 0700 Local Time Briefing Room -> Flight Deck Hearing her name and the urgency of the orders Chloe doesn't have to be told twice she heads towards the doors as soon as she's told. Passing behind Jay, with him being one of the only friendly and familiar faces here, she taps his shoulder on the way by and says simply and quickly "Hey, you be careful." She doesn't have time to say much else as her mind is already racing with the possibilities of what they were about to face. Normally if this wasn't an emergent mission she would have waited at the door for Noel and the rest of the team to join her, but her OCD kicks in and she feels the need to get to the helicopter and check the supplies and make sure that they have enough of whatever they might need. She really hates that the first time she lays eyes on the chopper is when she's about to have to go out on it. Luckily she finds it set up the same as any other military bird that she's been on and it's easy for her to locate things and check supply levels. While not as well stocked as she would like, she decides that they should have enough for today. Hopefully there are some supplies stashed somewhere on base so that she can restock when they get back, because if not they are going to be in some serious trouble sooner rather than later she can't function in the field without the proper supplies to care for the patients. By the time everyone else gets to the helicopter Chloe's already seated in her seat with her belts fastened; speaking with the pilot, who has just completed his pre flight checklist. reagan, Sgt. Osan Airbase, South Korea 0700 Local Time Briefing Room After hearing that he'll be paired with Halstead, Adam looks around the faces of the briefing room trying to locate Jay. Just as he spots him he notices a cute blonde tapping him on the shoulder and speaking to him before heading out. He figures that she must be part of the flight crew headed out to deal with the downed bird, saving this bit of information for later use he walks over to Jay clapping him on the shoulder with one hand and shaking his hand with the other "Halstead, good to see you and glad to work with you" He says quietly and stands next to Jay while they finish up the briefing. "So chopper security duty huh? Sounds like bunches of fun and excitement for us, checking credentials and cargo. Although I bet you don't mind hanging out up on the flight deck do you? She's got some credentials you don't mind checking doesn't she? Hot blonde a good friend of yours?" He jokes, "Just kidding, but seriously man we should probably head up there pretty quick and relieve the locals and get things organized, they've got to be exhausted. You have all your gear with you or do you need to stop and get it? Mine's over there," He gestures towards the door, "so I should be good to go whenever you are." reagan, Sgt. Jay Halstead, Col. Location: Briefing Room Jump rides, he loved them. He was a kid at heart and the Navy had given him the toys to play with plus now working for NCIS he got to ride in them a little more often too. Despite the fact that they were in South Korea, at a time he wasn’t too sure on he was simply that guy who was more than happy to just do his job with a smile on his face while he did it. Yes he was an adult trapped with the mind at times of a five year old and yes he was still excited to get out of the country and do some work. Mark listened to Stephanie brief them about what was going on, security shift well this was going to be fun he thought as he listened to what he would be doing. One by one the others were assigned as Stephanie spoke their orders out until he heard his name. Tactical and technical, well at least he had one of those covered he thought as he nodded. “On it, mech specs.” He said as he set about to finding what he needed to answer any questions. He looked up seeing Captain Reagan as he nodded, “On your six.” He said as he moved toward James and Stephanie, “Nice to be working with you both.” He added still having a respect for the chain of command even though he was now on the law enforcement side of things rather than the Navy side. Still JTF was all about working together as a team which made life a lot easier on all fronts especially when it worked out and meant that they could all get home in one piece. “Got the specs here. So do you guys know much about the base security for say man power?” He asked knowing he could look at the specs for it all, tell them every single electrical and mechanical component to it but the man power. Where the human factors were, he hadn’t a clue not from the specs at least. He had an idea where it would make sense to have people or where the enemy might hide but it was all a bunch of guesses on his part. Tag: Col. Stephanie Huntley , reagan , Sgt. Osan Airbase, South Korea 0700 Local Time Briefing Room
As soon as he got the summons, Jay quickly packed his ruck and headed to where the plane was waiting for him. After the flight, he walked into the building and went to one of the rooms and sat down, listening as Colonel Amberson briefed them. That's not good, he thought to himself. It sounded like one of the groups he and his Ranger team had taken down when they were active. Okay, we got an assignment and we've got this, he thought to himself. Well, it sounded like they were going to be just as busy as ever. And that was okay, given the fact that he actually thrived on stuff like this. Not that he liked the possibility of terrorists on American soil or other criminals blowing crap up, but he tended to go a little stir-crazy if he didn't have something to do. So really, this had come at a good time. Well, so to speak. There wasn't ever really a good time for an attack of any sort. Okay, he obviously needed to get more sleep because he wasn't making any sense. Terrific.
When he learned that he was being partnered together with Ruzek, his brows furrowed. Ruzek...didn't we work together on a couple of ops? he wondered. With a shrug, he started walking over to where he was, pausing momentarily when he felt someone tapping his shoulder and telling him to be careful. "Always am," he assured her, flashing her a smile. "And you be careful too," he said. Don't want her hurt, he thought to himself. Not that he knew that much about her. Yeah, his overprotectiveness was kicking in again. He needed to work on that. No one liked being smothered. But he couldn't help it. It was just who he was: a protector. Not that he thought that Chloe needed protecting. No, she'd probably kick his ass if she knew what he was thinking, and rightfully so.
He then gave himself a mental shake and then continued on his way to find Ruzek, smiling when the other man said it was good to see him and work with him. "You too," he said and then quirked a brow and grinned at him as he mentioned their duties, saying it sounded like a lot of fun, adding that he probably didn't mind staying where they were, mentioning Chloe, calling her a hot blond, asking if she was a good friend, assuring him that he had just been joking. "Still getting to know her. Met her when I went to the gym," he responded.
When he suggested that they get to where they needed to be so that they could relieve the locals who had to be exhausted, asking if he needed to get anything, saying his stuff was close by, he shook his head. "Packed a full ruck and hopped on the first flight I could get," he responded. Okay, so he probably wasn't going to need a full ruck, but ever since he had joined the Army, he had lived by three rules: always be prepared, never be unreachable, and always carry a knife, though that last one could get dicey at times with the travel restrictions. But hey, not important right now.

Osan Airbase, South Korea 0700 Local Time Briefing Room -> Flight Deck Noel stood there waiting for her orders feeling every bit out of place as she actually was. While she had spent hours out in the field, this was so far from the field she was used to. Still she had a duty to perform and that’s all that would matter. Still she always hated to admit she felt overwhelmed and under skilled with all of those she saw around her. She focused a bit as she heard her name called. Alright a downed bird was something she could deal with. “Downed bird, thirty clicks. Got it.” Her sense of duty and training kicked in. Noel wasn’t that far behind Lieutenant Nunn as they made their way to the chopper. Her own OCD about emergency preparedness kicking in as they arrived and started checking everything. In truth it felt odd for her boarding a helicopter like this without all her swim gear. But she had a few things with her instead. She had at least her jump bag of medical supplies. Still she was with the Lieutenant and if nothing else she knew she could trust her team. Col. Stephanie Huntley , reagan ,@chloenunn ,@adamruzek , Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson , Sgt. Jay Halstead ,

Osan Airbase, South Korea 0705 Local Time Briefing Room -> On the move “Got the specs here. So do you guys know much about the base security for say man power?”Stephanie was already on the move, She moved much faster than most people on the base. She did nothing slow. Stephanie took a looked over the mechanical and tactical specs. She wanted to know where their weapon systems were. "Not enough for these" she said handing the papers over to James as they headed to the command center. "Reality? Let's just hope Nunn and Carver don't get caught up in the mess. We need those supplies but with a team off base... there is no telling." They'd sent out another flying target. Stephanie was trying to think tactically but she hadn't for a long while. Everything had always been computer powered. Now they were sending a team into danger. On a deadly rescue mission. “Captain Reagan" a voice came over the radio. "You have an incoming chopper from Camp Humphry from the South" That worried Stephanie, incoming troops from ANY base right now were helpful yet it was a deadly risk. They had to figure out what they wanted to do. That wasn't Stephanie's decision. Though to be fair, she couldn't tell a North Korean from a South Korean. Hopefully the locals would be a better judge of that. Tag: reagan,@chloenunn,@adamruzek, Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson, Sgt. Jay Halstead,@noel

0730 Chopper wreck site As the chopper circles the wreckage on the ground Chloe looks out trying to figure out where to go first. "Doesn't look good down there...don't see much left of...anything." Chloe muses out loud. When the chopper lands Chloe grabs a bag and jumps out, heading towards the downed bird. She sees a couple bodies laying on the ground, checking them she sees that they didn't die from injuries sustained in the wreckage but from the bullet holes in their heads. "Everyone keep your eyes open...these two are dead, but more than likely not from the wreck...someone has been here at some point and shot them. Make sure the shooters aren't still hiding somewhere, I'm going to keep checking over here they may have missed someone. This just doesn't feel right, someone radio back to base and let them know what we've found and see if they can head any back up this way." Chloe makes it to the shell of the helicopter and can see that everything has been cleared out of the back. "Looks like we were too late to save the medical supplies, someone has already collected all of them. I think the pilot is still in here, I'm going in to check on him I think I just saw him move." She says climbing into the wreckage. She feels the helicopter shift when she climbs in and steadies herself. "Hey! Hello? Can you hear me? We're here to help." She says making her way to the pilot. She sees several cuts and abrasions, but notices a definite lack of bullet holes in this one as she feels for a pulse. He turns his head and looks at her, "Whoa...ok hey there. My name is Chloe and I'm here to help ok? We're going to get you out of here. Are you able to help me get you out of here at all, or do I need to get some more help in here?" "Steve. My name is Steve." He chokes out weakly, "Not sure if I can help or not, but I'll sure try." He says as he tries out moving his extremities. "I don't think I'm hurt that bad, just stiff and sore. Been trying to play dead since they came in and started shooting. The rest of my crew? Are they.." She cuts him off before he can go any further down that road, right now she needs him to focus on getting out of his helicopter and into hers. "Steve slow down, take a minute and let me know where you're hurting...I need to know if you can move all your fingers and toes because if not I have a group of people outside who will gladly come in and help us out." She starts turning him loose from his safety belts. "Yeah...I'm good. Let's get out of here, I don't want to hang out here any longer than I have to." He says with a weak smile. She turns to call out at Noel, "Carver I have a survivor in here, he and I are going to try walk to the chopper...make sure that someone is covering us. I'm going to start an IV eventually but right now I'm more worried about getting into the bird and headed out of here before anyone comes back. I just hope we didn't draw their attention when we were circling the area." reagan Sgt. Jay Halstead @noel Sp. Agt. Mark Wilson Col. Stephanie Huntley

Osan Airbase, South Korea 0715 Local Time Flight Deck Having arrived on the flight deck just in time to watch the rescue chopper take off and head towards a downed bird, that was apparently carrying much needed medical supplies Adam voiced some of his concerns out loud, "Really hope they know what they're flying into...I mean they've already downed one bird, what's to say they wont try for two...Nothing about this whole ordeal feels exactly right." He rolled his shoulders and took a deep breath trying to get rid of his nagging gut feeling he headed towards what he assumed to be the current security detail. Arriving to find two tired looking airmen he introduced himself and Jay "I'm Major Ruzek and this is Sergeant Halstead, we're here to relieve you. Do you have anything to report?" As soon as they heard they had relief the two shook their heads and took off. "Well they were certainly helpful." He mused out loud to himself. About that time he heard some radio traffic alerting them of an inbound chopper from a nearby base to the South. "Copy that." He said into the radio, turning to Jay... "This could get interesting pretty quick after all...I think I preferred boring." Adam stood watching the sky waiting to see the inbound helicopter, when he heard some broken radio traffic from the rescue chopper. Something about they were circling the downed bird and would be landing shortly. About the time he spotted the inbound bird he heard the rescue chopper requesting back up, he couldn't hear much else as the traffic was drowned out by the landing helicopter. Once they finally landed and he could hear again there was no further traffic. He stepped forward to check credentials before they let anyone off of the bird. He asked the pilot, "You happen to hear any radio traffic while you were landing, one of our rescue choppers was requesting back up for something and I didn't get a chance to hear it all?" The pilot smiled "Something about they found the downed bird and all the supplies were gone and most of the crew had been shot...nothing had happened I think they were just calling in back up just in case the enemy was still hanging around. I hadn't heard anyone respond to them yet though." Still unable to shake his bad feeling, but figured it had something to do with being in a strange place and on heightened security risk. Adam radioed in the arrival of the inbound helicopter and continued checking credentials and cargo on board while waiting for any further orders that might follow. reagan Sgt. Jay Halstead @noel Col. Osan Airbase, South Korea 0705 Local Time Briefing room - On the move
“On it, mech specs.” at least everyone had moved to where they needed to be “On your six.” “Nice to be working with you both.” James shot Mark a simple nod, more so to show he'd heard him - “Got the specs here. So do you guys know much about the base security for say man power?” Glancing at Steph he easily kept up with her, once she moved James was easily always close behind or beside "Not enough for these" taking the papers as Steph handed them to him he scanned them quickly as he walked "Reality? Let's just hope Nunn and Carver don't get caught up in the mess. We need those supplies but with a team off base... there is no telling." James nodded his agreement “Captain Reagan" hearing his name James unclipped his radio and listened "You have an incoming chopper from Camp Humphry from the South" Frowning James glanced towards Steph as he contemplated his options - fast - "Copy that." Hearing Ruzek James perked up "Copy that. Keep your eyes open" He looked down at the papers still in his hand as he clipped the radio back on his jacket and moved closer to Steph and Mark "Suggestions" he pushed cautiously, he knew the ground they were walking on was very very slippery.

0730 Chopper wreck site Noel cursed at the sight she saw below them as the helicopter circled. Chloe was right, the crash sight didn’t look too well. Following the Lieutenant's lead, Noel grabbed her own supply bag and jumped out alongside. She moved instantly to the side of the down bodies, doing much like Chloe was as well, checking for pulses, hoping beyond hope to find someone alive. Unfortunately it didn’t seem to be the case. Noel worked with the rest of the team to clear the area, letting the shooters take point in clearing. That certainly wasn’t her job description. She heard the Lieutenant talking with the pilot and stayed near knowing that a second set of hands could be indispensable. She half listened to Chloe as she talked with the pilot as Noel kept an eye on the perimeter. So far everything seemed good. But that didn’t stop her from keeping an eye open. Since Chloe was the senior officer on the location, Noel let her do the job. Besides Chloe had more experience at all of this then she did. No reason to put her foot in her mouth after all. “Roger that.” Noel noted, confirming that she had heard the order. She had taken all of two steps at that point when all hell broke loose. On instinct she dove for cover as bullets zipped by, impacting all around. In her periphery Noel noticed a few of the gunners drop with small bursts of crimson exploding from them. This wasn’t good. “Incoming!” Her mind going back to training she hadn’t used in many years, Carver Low crawled so that she was in a better position. Putting something more than just high grass between her and the out of sight shooters. Well out of sight to her, hopefully one of their teams gunners had a good bead on them. ------- Col. Jay nodded in agreement as Adam voiced his concerns about the situation, wondering what would stop the people they were after from shooting down another plane, saying something didn't feel right. "Yeah I know what you mean. Something's not sitting right," he commented. Reminds me that night in Kandahar, he thought to himself. That had been bad. Totally FUBAR. Bad Intell and working with a guy none of them had been familiar with, which had thrown the team off a bit. And he hadn't liked that one little bit.
He then followed the major as they went to relieve two other officers, the other man asking them if they had anything to report, getting a negative response. Perfect, just perfect, he thought bitterly, holding back a laugh when Adam's musings echoed his thoughts. They were on the same page then. Wonderful. Sort of.
When they heard the news that a chopper was coming in, he looked at the toher man who said that things were about to get interesting and that he actually preferred boring. "As long as I don't end up getting chased by a dog again, I'm good," he responded. Thoughts of that still made him slightly grumpy. They had nearly completed the recon, when they had been spotted by a dog and the damn thing had ended up chasing them away. He had wanted to keehaul someone for the omission of that little tidbit. If there was a dog guarding a house, they should be told, thank you very much.
While they were on the chopper, Jay closed his eyes and tried to drown out the bursts of static he was getting as the information they were being fed was relayed, frowning in concentration. Afterwards, Major Ruzek asked him what had been said, admitting that he hadn't heard everything and that he was assuming that they were calling for backup in case someone was still around. "One survivor. They need cover to get them out," he responded. It hadn't been easy to pinpoint Chloe's voice through the static, but he had managed it, thankfully. Now, if he could just shake this feeling....

Osan Airbase, South Korea 0705 Local Time Briefing room - On the move Mark moved with Stephanie and James, it was surprising how fast Amberson actually moved though why he had thought that might be different he wasn’t sure. A team off base and supplies they needed, yeah what could go wrong he thought. They needed a lot of luck on their side for this he thought but he didnt say anything, his head was stuck on the specs he had looking through each part of them trying to find anything to help. There was another team, Mark was glad he wasn’t on that ride even if he was with the ones there already. Mark nodded to James, well it wasn’t as if they could have an entire conversation when they were working. Mark wasn’t really the shutting up type when he was nervous but the one thing that did calm him down was the fact he actually knew what he was doing outside of his NCIS role. Mark looked between James and Stephanie as he pointed to a place on the specs. “See there, that’s the weapons controls.” He said as he moved his finger, “But looks like they have a control room of sorts, all wires seem to lead there.” He said as he pointed to another section on the specs. Mark looked between the other two wondering what they had, if there was one thing he knew it was when something didnt exactly sit right and the entire thing had him feeling the hair on the back of his neck standing up straight. 0750 Chopper wreck site Chloe was still in the downed helicopter with the injured pilot Steve, trying to help him towards the door when she heard the gunshots start. “Shots fired…we need back up ASAP…Carver report….Noel…” She called on the radio, so yeah in circumstances like this all the ranks and experience in the world didn’t matter. That was her friend out there and she wanted to know she was ok. She also wanted some kind of idea as to what was going on out there, she could hear it but couldn’t see much of anything. Why wasn’t anyone responding to them on the radio? Better yet…why was there so much static that she could hardly understand anyone when they were right here with her. By looking at her you’d never be able to tell it but she was scared to death, all she wanted to do was curl up and hide but she couldn’t do that she was supposed to be calm cool and collected…this was her job. Gathering every ounce courage she had, she shook her head and cursed under her breath and explained to Steve that she needed to see what was going on outside, she was after all technically supposed to be in charge of this mess. Steve insisted that he was going with her, and somehow managed to convince her that he would be able to keep up and even help out. Chloe approached the door of the chopper and could see a couple of their people down after trying repeatedly to reach somebody, anybody really, and finally giving up on the radios completely she yelled “Noel…location?” After waiting for her response she continued “If you can…I want you to start back towards the helicopter as soon as I give you the word and we’ll cover you.” Chloe managed to make eye contact with one of the other crew members that was still alive and yelled, “Cover her! Go…Noel…go.” Chloe managed to take out one of the enemies when she saw them pop up and aim in Noel’s direction, but not before he had gotten a shot off. Everything inside of her was revolting, she was supposed to be saving lives not taking them. Taking a couple of deep breaths and composing herself before she was able to speak, “Noel…you good?...Ok Steve, it’s our turn…If you don’t feel like you can make it we’ll hang out here and wait for things to die down out there…but we have to get back to my helicopter if we have any chance of getting out of here.” She hadn’t voiced it out loud but the alive was implied at the end of that sentence. Steve assured her that he wasn’t ready to die yet and that he was ready to head to the other chopper so they jumped out together and ran. Chloe could hear the bullets hitting the ground around them, for his part Steve was doing a good job keeping up and hadn’t slowed their progress much only requiring minimal support from her. Once inside of the helicopter, Chloe worked on catching her breath and gathering her scattered thoughts. While trying the radios yet again, “Can anyone copy? We need back up…shots fired, crew members down.” she counted heads noticing that the pilot wasn’t in his seat trying not to panic she asks “Has anyone seen the pilot and has anyone been able to hear any response from base on these stupid radios?” @noel Col.
